  1. But a Z just looks so much better and sounds better too. No contest for me lol.
  2. Yeah I think your right Trev, 10K to 12K can get a lot of Z now
  3. Thats a great post really helpful Maybe it should be given to halfrauds employess as part of their induction lol. Oh hang on they wont stock good car fascias or wiring looms.
  4. Well just went to see my first potential Z and have to say I was dissapointed with it so I think I will be staying clear. Not trying to bash a garage just giving my opinion on face value of the car. http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... gLetter=53 It was a 2003 Sunset Orange, with a GT pack, 40K miles and the garage wanted £10k for it. I had a good look around the car and all the tyres were on the limit and the discs has a prominent lip on them, so I imagine they would be in need of a change soon. The drivers side rear wheel arch on the inside was corroding and the paint flaking away. The front bumper must of been resprayed as on the black plastic under the number plate im sure I could see overspray (well it certainly wouldnt of come out the factory like that). And one of the alloys had been kerbed pretty badly. I asked if I could take it for a test drive and the garage said no "unless I wanted to strike a deal" but then said they were changing the tyres when I pointed out they werent legal and suggested I come back on saturday The interior was good however for an 03 car and a bit less worn than my 03 celica, but the service history was chequered and had a P3? at 24000 and then a stamp saying it had been service at a vauxhall garage but no date or what had been done. So all in all I reckon it would need some serious coin knocking off to reflect the value. I may be picky but my current motor is in better condition lol and has done 20K more miles.
  5. http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... gLetter=53 Any opinions on this car at this price?
  6. yeah I seen that in the for sale section, I was gutted lol. Looks like a stunning motor.
  7. Cheers all Nice to feel welcome. Im off to look at an 03 plate Orange GT with Orange leather interior today with 40K on the clock at £10,000 seems about the right price with it having below average miles. I would ideally like a car with closer to 35K and a year less on it. After looking through other threads the pre 05 models have a lower tax bracket, is this because the standard engine became the GT4 engine? Doesnt the GT4 engine only add top end and the original engine has more response low down? But ill have a look at her and see what the crack is. Like I said, im in no rush but if the right one comes along, then the right one comes along
  8. Theres a couple of Scrooges on here, it seems to run on it ok for them!
  9. I have EBC discs and pads all over on my celica and can vouch for their improved stopping power. As far as cross drilled goes, unless your paying for heat treated discs, isnt there the risk of fatigue cracks forming??? Hope you get ur discs sorted.
  10. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I might be a little quiet on here because I dont want to ask questions that have been asked a million times before and can be found with a little searching. But the hunt for a Z is on, ive seen a nice 03 plate with 40K on for 10 grand in orange. May be a little higher mileage than I wanted (my celicas only got 55k on and seen a lot of UK Z's on 03 plates with around 30K on) but I may go have a look and take it for a spin at least. Im in no rush and will just wait for the right one to come along. One question I do have is though, do you have to use high octane fuel? Does it cause severe bogging if you use 95 Octane?
  11. Well ive attached a pic of my current motor, its an old picture but im on my works PC so dont have many pics of her. Since taking this I have put on EBC discs all round and red stuff pads. A Dynamic front lip and TRD side skirts (The same lip and skirts that are on the 05+ Celica GT), also installed an engine start button (well I was never gonna use the ciggy lighter lol) and put a refelective red infill graphic on the "Celica" logo on the back. I like to mod my cars a little, but nothing big, just make it my own. Im jsut keeping my eye out for the right car at the right price at the moment, im in no hurry but im sure ive made my mind up that im going to move on from the Celi. its been a good car, but fancy a nice big V6
  12. Cheers I think im seeing a few familiar faces from CCUK on here lol. Is it common to graduate from a Celica to a Z???

  14. WOW, now that is a car Congrats and enjoy!!!!
  15. Hi everyone, I know there will be a lot of noobs introducing themselves on here but I thought it only right to say hello. Im Jonny from Teesside and im a big fan of the Z. I currently own an 2003 Celica T Sport (which I love) but I think a lot of money needs to be spend on it to get it how I want it (discs, pads, alloy refurb, bumper respray etc etc) so im looking to "graduate" to a more premium car. I have liked the Z since its introduction but could not afford one until now, so im trying to weigh up whether to take the plunge and invest in a Z or keep the Celica. Either way I hope to stick around and contribute something, becuase I do intend on owning a Z. Preferably a nice Orange one roughly around an 04 plate, I would look to spend about 12K so I assume that would bag a decent motor. I dont want to ask to many "noob" questions cause im sure I will find the answers with a bit of searching. Cheers all Jonny
