Arkwright Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 my 350z battery has gone flat due to the vehicle not being used in the inclement weather and all the electrical goodies still functioning. Can i charge it up on the car using a conventional battery charger (which i have) or must i use a digital battery charger (which I don't have). Do I need to disconnect the battery and if so will anything happen on the electrical side ie ecu stopping or radio needs resetting. (I don't have the radio code). thanks in advance. Quote
M13KYF Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I thought you could use just a regular battery charger and no need to disconnect it Quote
ZMANALEX Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 + 1 ^^ Watch that you don't cook the battery if your charger does not have an automatic cut off. Quote
Stew Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I have just used my trickle charger in the past and it's got it going. No need to enter radio code or anything. Fired up first time on the couple of occasions it's gone flat. Quote
Arkwright Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 thankz guyz. That'll do nicely. Quote
GIXXERUK Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 DONT charge it with the battery connected to the car ! Quote
GIXXERUK Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 oops! further info? it will spike or melt some components, have you felt the battery charger cables when you remove them ? they are very hot Quote
M13KYF Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 if disconnect the battery then, make sure you drop the windows first Quote
