stuey Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 is it heading for £1.50 a litre by summer........... Quote
stanski Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Yeah and jags and Bentleys and Rangerovers ! With any luck I will be able to get a cheap Bentley GT continental in the next couple of years - my original plan was forcast as 10 years on - since they are about £55K on an '05 plate now already? The way prices and well fooseballers tastes are going they will be a lot cheaper a lot sooner! Actually Astons will probably be cheap also? You will be able to buy a £60K GT-R for peanuts! Of course no petrol to run them on but hey minor drawback! Quote
Stew Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Shocking. My dad complained the other day that his rangie took £110 of diesel. That will last a week if he's lucky! Makes the Zed seem alright! I think I'll be reviewing my career and putting in to move somewhere with cheaper fuel and taxes. Quote
Beavis Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 I wonder how much in total ££££ Wales will be burning with 50 zeds Quote
Stew Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 well I'll be around £200 for petrol I'd have thought. Wales run alone. How many miles? Quote
Beavis Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 well I'll be around £200 for petrol I'd have thought. Wales run alone. How many miles? Got to be about 150 Better ring the shell garage at chester and tell them to stock up with the Ferrari model cars 50 zeds could lead to anywhere between 50 and 100 ferrari's Quote
tmJak Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 is it heading for £1.50 a litre by summer........... Well at least the public transport system is so efficient you don't have to drive Quote

Chris`I Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 well then I reckon £1850 or there abouts..... And thats just for the run itself. Take into account the travelling people will do and I wouldnt be supprised if the weekend total was about £4-5k Quote
Stew Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 As I said, I'll be around £200 for fuel alone I'd have thought. Quote

Chris`I Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 As I said, I'll be around £200 for fuel alone I'd have thought. Dont think I'll be far off. If everyone did that we'd be up to £10k Quote
Stew Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 I don't doubt it. I haven't checked the milage from my house to chester. Whats a post code in chester? I'll estimate petrol costs! And time......... Quote

Chesterfield Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 With pipelines being bomed in Nigeria, Japanese oil tankers being subject to attack and the Iranian prime minister stating that he feels oil is too cheap at $115 a barrel, its only going to get worse. Quote
Stew Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 And with me looking after production of about 500 000 barrels a day you're all in trouble. I can hit a stop button on about 300 000 barrels worth! I won't do it though...... Quote
Stew Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Ok, house to hotel is 388.7 miles and 7 hrs 9 mins driving time according to AA. Quote
Ebized Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Ok, house to hotel is 388.7 miles and 7 hrs 9 mins driving time according to AA. Good to see you will be driving at a nice steady 56mph and saving fuel Quote
Stew Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Oh yes! slip streaming behind an HGV! Well by the time I stop for fuel and something to eat it'll be over 7 hours. On the way back it's bound to be longer as I'm sure shopping will be involved...... Still, thats commitment to the club for you! Quote
Chris`I Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Is there a prize for the furthest travelled Zed? Quote
Ebized Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Is there a prize for the furthest travelled Zed? That's likely to be Zedrush - he had already planned the long way via Bristol but now he's got his pride and joy all kitted out Im sure he'll take the opportunity to show it off on a longer route to win that prize Quote
MarkW Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 We could all reset our trip computers at the start of the run and see who gets the best/worst mpg of the day. It could make for some interesting stats if nothing else.... Quote
GIXXERUK Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Is there a prize for the furthest travelled Zed? that has got to be jay he's bound to get lost once the place names change to welsh Quote
