Kev T Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Abbey did my annual service and 8 year Mot all good with no advisories, the only issue was the oil cooler fitted when i went FI was leaking badly so needed replacing, it looked as though it had been weeping for some time. I had a Vibra - Technics gearbox mounting fitted while the car was on the ramps, it is so superior to OEM, the gear changes are now much more precise. You can see the difference in build quality by comparing the two pictures. The original Nissan mounting can be rotated by hand ! Quote
Umster Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 For all the money and effort people put into their Z, this one isn't rated highly enough. Cheap and so easy to DIY. Glad you've done it and are enjoying it. Quote
BobbyZ Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Nice one - I might have to look into getting this done to mine. Quote

I think for those that like to realy drive the car this little mod should be up there with the likes of the anti roll bars and exhaust suggestions as first mods Quote

Apologies - noob alert - can you expand please on the benefits of this and what's actually being improved, how and at what cost? Quote
Kev T Posted March 5, 2021 Author Posted March 5, 2021 The OEM gearbox mounting is stiffened with a fairly soft rubber type bushing which is quite pliable and can easily be moved around by hand where as the Vibratecnics mounting has a much more solid and resistant feel which eliminates any gearbox or gear stick movement enabling more precise gear changes, the only downside is possibly slightly more NVH but as my 370 is supercharged and has a mechanical diff with Whiteline poly bushes i don't notice any difference in noise levels tbh. 1 Quote
