Quick Question

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I was looking at the new red stuff pads that came with the EBC discs I bought from Tarmac Sportz and was wondering if someone could answer me a question.

There is a sort of metal bracket on just one of the pads, but it isn't on any of the others. I'm sure there is an obvious answer, but not being mechanically minded, could someone enlighten me as to why only one of the pads has this?

The attached image isn't of my red stuff pads, it's an image I found on the net. The area circled illustrates what I mean.

Thanks.

It's a pad wear sensor mate. When the pad wears down enough and that clip touches the disc it'll squeal to let you know they're low.

You only need 1 per axle because all 4 pads should wear at the same rate.

That makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
