nixy Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I'm thinking of treating my car to a service now its hit a massive 10k miles! I've found a decent sounding local-ish jap car specialist but how do I know what needs doing in line with the schedule? I would like to be able to tell him what I want doing but other than the obvious I don't know. So what's in a p1, p2 and p3. I've used the search button but it didn't really help. Ta Quote
M13KYF Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 why don't you have your service done at BigPhil's ESR. I would feel more confident with someone who knows what there doing rather than having to tell somone what to do. Phil also goes beyond the standard P1, P2 & P3 to check on other little items as part of the service. Quote
stuey Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 i have a service schedule here.............. for p1 p2 and p3............... Quote
mbs Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Nixy, If you are going to Atkins, don't worry they will know what is required. Quote
GIXXERUK Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 i have a service schedule here.............. for p1 p2 and p3............... Quote
tmJak Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 i took mine to tdi north and they knew what to do and did a top notch job. think most decent jap garages will be pretty good esp if recommended on site Quote
nixy Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 This place is fairly local to me and I would like to build up a raport with someone close enough to ring if I need anything doing or have any problems. He mainly does skylines and scoobies at the moment. And Stuey, your joke is too subtle, I don't get it - enlighten me or give me the answer. Quote
davej Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 And you get biscuits and tea at phil's!!! also i recommend the butty van round the corner! Dave Quote

nixy Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 ta that's quite useful. Not sure what the two different colours signify or which bits get done at which service though. Quote
stuey Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 ive tried to photograph the service sheet but its not clear enough to post............ if you want it nixy pm me your address and il post it.......... Quote
Chris`I Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 ta that's quite useful. Not sure what the two different colours signify or which bits get done at which service though. From what I can gather: I=inspect R=replace L=Lube T=Tighten Colours alternate so they can easily highlight the right line and tick the right box. And obviously each thing unde the different P1,P2,P3 heading is what is done Quote
