Been getting prices for my Z's P3 service in Newcastle on Tyne. Best price from Vic Young South Shields (yet again)£249 all in  Other prices ranged £289, £295, and £307. Just shows what we have to pay for the dolly bird at reception, certificates on the wall, TV, papers and coffee machines.

Cheapest i found p3 in/near essex was £300 all in, but car just came out warrenty so went for the L3 service, get alot more service/cehcks/products and was only £250 all in, if your car is out of warrenty go for the L3 service, the P? services are part of the warrenty as i understand.

I was told that in the Px service they connect up the Nissan Consult computer to the car to read off any error codes and do diagnostics. In the Lx they dont do that so its cheaper but also invalidates the warrenty :)

Disclaimer: this is just soemthing I seem to remember being told by my local dealership and is in no way guarenteed as the absolute truth

i have found a Nissan specialist just down the road to me ( I live in Peterborough) & they do a P3 service for £165 & as they are Nissan specialist the service book will still show a Nissan stamp & you have peace of mind that you don't have a spotty 16 year old working on your car!

Had my P3 done recently, phoned 3 dealers in the Somerset area who wanted £308 (Weston), £314 (Wellington), and £340 (Yeovil) between them.

Took it to Protech in the end who did it for nearer the £180 mark. (Cant remember exact price, had the clutch changed at the same time and did a bit of bartering over an all-in price which was a lot more than 180!)

If you are looking in Newcastle then you should use ESR.

An excellent job, nice cup of coffee, and done by people who know about the car (and not some monkey who wants to hop in and burn off your car in a 'road test' as soon as you aren't looking - yes it does happen).

They aren't Nissan dealers but they will use Nissan part and not invalidate your warranty. You will also get good oil, not the cheap castor oil that Nissan have in 50 gallon drums and use for the micra upwards.

I can't think why anyone would chance a dealer in Newcastle when ESR are local.

I think I'll probably stay with a Nissan Dealer for now (resale and all that)but could possibly use them in future. Where are they cos I’ve never heard of them. Is ESR the company name or an abbreviation?
