I PASSED MY PRINCE-2

Well done mate, it's not exactly what you would call a 'fun' course is it

I am a Project Manager and as you already know, if you don't have PRINCE2 you are pretty small beer and will miss out on all but the most junior posts for interview.

Next step MSP. I`ve just done that one and it is an utter b*st*rd of an exam!

Totally agree with you there. However i want PMT to be honest as i like the idea of something that is more linear rather than horizontal, if you know what i mean. Also i need something that is recognised in the states as that is where i would like to end up, so having Prince and PMI will help getting something out there.

You big girl

 Jay you crack me up mate! When is your car ready?

Well done matey, I hear this is good to have if you want to be a PM.

Quite a few people I work with have done this and they tried to get me to do it but I'm not interested in being PM, and it was too much effort for a qualification that I'd likely never use.

So Brown has a Prince qualification? :scare::scare::scare: Surely that would put people of doing the course no?

PM = Project Manager :secret:;)

Jesus I didnt know you had to pass exams to project manage , does that mean the last 2 showrooms and house I've built will fall down :teeth:
You know what, that is exactly my attitiude as i dont see why i need to have this to do my job, pretty much because i have been doing it for ages and they didnt teach me that much which i didnt already know. However, they put a lot of processes and structure into place which helps so much in project management. Mainly about the reporting and when to issue work packages. Also around requirements capture and progressing to next stages of work.

I can honestly say i also did it to put on my CV as it will open a lot more doors in the future for me

Well done Louis. Hard work indeed. I did the theory and full exam all in one week. Both exams being on the Friday.
You were right about the extra work in the evenings Kev. They helped me understand a lot more than i orignally thought from the class notes.

You had both on the friday! Wow that is madness, we had the full course monday to wednesday, foundation thursday 12am, recap thursday afternoon, then practitioner exam 9am on the friday!

Well done btw - this course is a good grounding in PM, but you do need to be using it all the time from now on, otherwise, its wasted effort and the next BIG THING will come along and you'll need to get accredited to that

Exactly, luckally it is being applied to all projects that i am doing (well to an extent and where applicable as you dont need all parts of Prince-2 for every project) The main being a big project that i have started working on, its going to help in every shape and form, especially with the people in my department who never like to sign things and agree next steps ;)

Its a Methodology rather than a how to run projects type course and qualification, Also covers lots of terminology so if everyone involved uses the same words then the projects should run alot smoother.. Its been around for about 15 years but was principly used in Government / MOD projects.

Who did you do it through?

Who did you do it through?

True, but i believe it helps in running projects too as you can use the methodology to apply to the project processes and structures that you are using.

I did it through learning tree
