Hi,

as per above title I couldn't find much clear info on this so I am asking anyone that knows where to plug the mechanical gauge to check the engine oil pressure.

thanks in advance!

There is also an independent ancillary take off in the same area as the oil pressure sender unit, however as what IMC has said, swopping out the sender for the independent gauge is my preferred option.

Don't do like i did when i first got the car and over tighten as the senders tapered. or you'll be wipping the engine out to replace the upper sump.

Expensive **** up lol

Do you not need the stock pressure sensor fitted alex? I thought the variable timing would run off it like a Honda. Not really sure how it works on the vq though

We use a sandwich plate and oil pressure gauge on a braided line.

my local garage didn't have one but we took out the pressure sending unit and connected the mechanical gauge and it showed us just under 40psi while with the sending unit on was just at 5 psi... :)
