rich9001 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Its time to choose a set of tyres, anyone out there have any experience with the Ultrac Vorti? They seem to get good reviews on tyrereview.co.uk but they've been pushed down the list on the autoexpress 2016/17 tyre tests. Thanks for any input. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Good tyres, had them on GT-R, I still have them in the garage, now replaced with MPSS Quote
Flex Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 On my skyline, seem good, might use them on the zed next. Not sure about wet conditions though. Quote
rich9001 Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Good tyres, had them on GT-R, I still have them in the garage, now replaced with MPSS Thanks adi, Did you swap because there was a problem with them? Quote
coldel Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 MPSS are just better, but also twice the price. I got these on my Celica, clearly a different beast with 4WD compared to a Zed but fantastic in the dry, can feel a little bit skittish in the wet I think. Quote
Diggerman Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) they are the new successor of the sessanta which I used to run on my rx8 and they were unreal for the price, people I know with the vorti on there rx8s seem to think they are every bit as good so I'm looking to try them out myself when it comes to tyre change Edited January 12, 2017 by Diggerman Quote
coldel Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 For value they are excellent mine were less than half the price of MPSS in a deal on one of the tyre websites. Quote
Aashenfox Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Barum 3HM are worth considering, I've had them on the Type R and now the Z, they are a subsidiary of Continental, it is said that the rubber of the Barums, is the same as the sportcontact5 Continental tyre. I don't know if it's true, but it's a good tire. They're quite soft and I do very few miles, so I'm not making any comments about their durability as I wouldn't know, but their performance is excellent. Quote
davey_83 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2016-EVO-Summer-Performance-Tyre-Test.htm I will try the Advan Sport V105 next on mine. Quote
