Hi,hs anyone bothered changing the diff oil.I was"having play" on our local driving center grounds but having failed to drift the car,I then tried the usual lsd test and was surprised that the diff is not working.

This I suspect is the result of the car having a pretty gentle life before I bought it,in the hands of a woman driver.

Anyone ever freed up a diff just by changing the oil please.

Not too sure about 'freeing' the diff but i changed my diff oil few 100 miles ago . I used genuine nissan i think it takes about 2.7lt if i am not mistaken .

Quite easy job , you just need something to pump the oil into the diff as the filling plug is at the side of the diff if that makes sense

I ordered from Clark Motorsport next day delivery

The stock lsd never locks up consistently in my experience and is very oil temperature dependent

But changing the oil is often overlooked and you never know

I thought you were supposed to change the DIf oil every 3 years?

This is what we recommend:

Spark Plugs should be changed at 5 years or 54,000 miles

Antifreeze should be changed at 3 years or 36,000 miles

Transmission fluid should be changed at 3 years or 36,000 miles

VLSD fluid should be changed at 3 years or 36,000 miles

Front engine belts should be changed at 3 years or 36,000 miles

Service parts always in stock for the DE and HR :)

I dont think that Nissan specify a frequency but many specialists agree on manual gearbox and diff oil every 3 years

I went with Motul 300V for gearbox and LSD. I don't know is it just a feeling but gearbox once oil is on working temp seams to operate smoother
