Jam1 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Has anyone got some experience of getting a supercharged 350z through an MoT, any advice is gratefully appreciated. The car has test pipes on it as I was led to believe high flow cats would burn out quickly so they were removed, so this is my worry...an xcessive lambda reading! I have six months to come up with a plan!! Quote
Ekona Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Put some cats on, you should be fine. Metal ones won't burn out, if you can get them. Or the OEM ones, and just take them off after the test. You may need a remap if you're particularly on the edge. Quote
andybp Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 lots of people running superchargers with cats on here it's the way to go even if it's only for the mot Quote
Jam1 Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 Sounds pretty straight forward, thanks guys Quote
GMballistic Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I had a "friendly MOT" tester so he "helped" my Zed get through the MOT with De-Cats on but otherwise your best option really is as Dan mentions which is having a set of OEM Cats fitted just for the test. Quote
ChrisB Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 HFC (Fast Intentions) on my V3 supercharged - no sign of burn out and passes MOT every time De cat always runs fail risk or swap required at MOT S/C or not. Quote
