arif_manji Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 (edited) Hi Guys, I have recently bought a 2009 HR model. It's running some cheap WINDFORCE tyes which I want to replace as I find them quiet hard, noisy and doesn't give much confidence driving at speed or taking corners. I'm thinking of getting Falken Ziex ZE-914 Ecorun they have really good rating and customer ratings seem to be good too. Any one used them or have any feedback on these? Any feedback will be appreciated Cheers Edited June 8, 2016 by arif_manji Quote
brillomaster Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 not really a tyre designed to complement a zeds sporty nature (the clue is 'eco' in the name) what makes you particularly keen on those rather than a Goodyear, Michelin, Continental etc, or even a Falken FK453, which is more suited to sporting driving? Ekona Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 (edited) Definitely not! They'd be fine for a 1.2 Corsa, not for a heavy sports car. FK453 would be the 'lowest' I'd put on the car. I could start the rant about how the MPSS are actually the cheapest as they'll last the longest, but everyone's heard that by now Edited June 8, 2016 by Ekona 1 Quote
arif_manji Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 Ok, they seem good. fuel rating on that is E where the rating on the other is C - does it really make that much of a difference? Quote
Ekona Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Ignore that EU rating stuff, it's complete nonsense. You could make far more of a difference by utilising your right foot than by changing tyres. Quote
arif_manji Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 LOL! Good point! Have you guys ever heard of tyres called WINDFORCE? that's what I have on my Zed? Quote
Ekona Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Never, which is a trifle concerning. I expect they're the cheapest of the cheap, you're doing the right thing by getting rid of them Quote

AMT Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Falken fk453s will do fine, I used to run them but then I learned the error of my ways... lol If you can stretch a bit more go for the pilot super sports Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Quote
arif_manji Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Cheers guys, appreciate the advise! So far, found them on Camskill @ £352.66 all 4 (225/245) delivered to chap who will be refurbishing the wheels. Is that a good deal? Quote
brillomaster Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 compare the quote with mytyres, tyreleader, blackcircles or oponeo. Quote
arif_manji Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 I just wanted to say that I got my wheels refurbed and got a set of Falken's 453's fitted all around and they are great tyres! The ride is much more smooth, quiet and grippy! Quote
coldel Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Glad to hear it, like anything if it suits your style of driving then they will be more than capable. Even MPSS have their limits and drive like and idiot they will find a ditch for you too. Quote
