Boot Trim Removal - for sound deadening

Recommended Posts

Looking for a guide on striping the boot trim panels (including central bar, side panels, and boot lid panel) as I plan on sound deadening it all soon.

Found a couple useful resources so far:

Removing Interior trim pieces: http://imgur.com/a/PdaLM

Boot trim with pics: http://www.350z-uk.c...ix-boot-pop-up/

Boot Trim tips: http://my350z.com/fo...ng-purpose.html

Any more guide links or advice?

Many Thanks

Darmo

It`s pretty easy once you get into it. Remove all pop clips you can see, a lot of the panels need careful prying/pulling off as the clips are hidden underneath. Clips are all available on ebay or Nissan in case you break any. Start by pulling up boot seal. Remove rear carpet, rear center section trim. etc

It's more for audio performance.

Did the interior the other week. Just the boot left now. So far it's made a difference. The sub never causes rattles behind drivers and passengers seat anymore.

Interesting, my car rattles like the screws are all loose (not found any cause!) but I'm giving dynamat a go when I get round to it. Any particular tips?

Do it on a hot day, and patience :)

My sub has never rattled without any sound deadening. Maybe I'm lucky and and have one that fits snugly.

I assume you are talking about OEM sub. Mine is aftermarket and much more powerful.
