shad0wca7 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Getting out of the car earlier this morning, I looked back and to my horror there is a tear on the back support of my drivers seat! Can anybody suggest what can be done to fix this or am I looking at getting a donor seat? Quote
Mudman Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Drop Mondo a PM if oop North or Ricey if down South, sure they can suggest something Quote
-G- Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) Nasty - how did that happen? Were you wearing something with metal buttons? Edited April 20, 2016 by -G- Quote
ZEUS Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 As Mudman said Hide n Seat for a repair panel or Ricey for a repair to the tear. Quote
shad0wca7 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Nasty - how did that happen? Were you wearing something with metal buttons? That's the weird thing - I have no idea. Haven't been wearing anything with metal buttons, no spikey collars or anything like that! I'm wondering if it just dried and broke but the leather around it is still quite pliant Quote
shad0wca7 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 As Mudman said Hide n Seat for a repair panel or Ricey for a repair to the tear. Assuming you mean Ricey @ Revolveautomotive? I've sent him a PM, thanks Quote
Ricey Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Eeek that's a right nasty one. Has it gone right through or just deeply scratched it? Tell you what it would take some doing to rip it right through.....I struggle to cut leather with a fresh Stanley blade at times. Honestly I could probably do 'something' with it but I'm not convinced it would totally hide it especially with the perforation in the leather Si at Mondo will probably be able to advise. KUGT4 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) looks like been pressed quite hard and the points between the perferations have split buy some used ones off ebay quite cheaply Edited April 22, 2016 by KUGT4 Quote
Mondo 300 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 It looks to me that there's been an unfortunately-placed scar on the reverse of that panel that just happens to line up with the perforations. That gives it an area of "weakness" and it's given way. The only viable option is a complete replacement panel, I'm afraid. Quote
shad0wca7 Posted April 25, 2016 Author Posted April 25, 2016 That's a shame but I suspected as much - is that something you could do and would you have a ballpark estimate of costs? 1 Quote
