Painting calipers

I'd like peoples thoughts. I'm looking at painting my own calipers.

I'm looking at either the brake caliper specialists paint kit or VHT products, so primer, paint and laquer. Comes to roughly same price.

I'm more than confortable doing as done before. Just curious which one people would go for. Ones paint on other is spray.

I brush painted mine about 18 months ago and they have been fine, rubbed down and prepped caliper then brushed on.there are no brush marks when dry just looks powder coated smooth.

Well i attempted this today. Got paint from the brake caliper specialists. Followed the instructions to the letter and they look awful. ST orange as well was a really bad choice plus the paint has loads of bubbles in it.

Really disappointed. Hey ho you live and learn. Got to drive around with crap looking front calipers till i can strip them back. Going for gloss black with orange akebono decals. Keeping it simple.

What instructions did you follow?

What was your process from start to finish?

I've painted the brake calipers on lots of my previous cars, mainly with brushes but also spray painted one set.

I'm also thinking ..... Did you degrease it enough

That would cause the same effect

I went over them about 4 times to be sure. Just don't understand. It was like the finish you get with water colour paint. Loads of tiny bubbles
