Matt246 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Hi Guys I have a slight problem with the pneumatic boot lifters in the boot of my 350 ('03 Jap import). The Boot will not stay up. Does anyone have any ideas on where I can get replacements? Anyone else experienced this problem? Matt Quote
AndySpak Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 When I was looking to buy my car, one of the used car guides I read said that this was a common problem I should check for. I guess if it is common, there must be some aftermarket versions available to save you going to a Nissan main dealer. Quote
H5 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Big Phil on here does some uprated ones I believe. There is also a counter balance weight in the boot lid that can be removed to save weight. Quote
Digsy Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 PM bigphil - he does upgraded struts IIRC. Quote
P15UL T Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 yes he does, £100 plus your old ones as they need to remove the bracket that is welded on IIRC Quote
Matt246 Posted January 10, 2008 Author Posted January 10, 2008 Thanks guys H5, do you have any info on how to remove the counter weight? I might give this a go. Quote

Pingu2 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I fitted the uprated ones from Phil and they are certainly an improvement - my boot stays up easilly even with the cold weather and a nismo spoiler! Quote

rickya Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Anyone know an easy way to undo top nut on strut (the one that attaches to tailgate). Its a 12mm but a right bas%ard to to get to. I think the only way is to remove plastic trim to get better access (break a few more plastic rivets again in process ) & try & undo with spanner (while scratching inside of tailgate paint!! Any advice Quote
Matt246 Posted January 16, 2008 Author Posted January 16, 2008 I have heard that there is a special tool that you can get that will easily remove it without damaging anything. I have put up some posts to find out. I have a similar problem Quote
