SherlockH Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 So some idiot crashed into me and drove off, and has damaged the front left wing/arch, so new one order, I've fitted new inner and outer tie rods, as it has damaged the wheel, doors a little worse for wear but hopefully a body shop will sort that out. The problem is that the ESP off and ABS light have lit up just after some advice as to what I should be checking to start diagnosing this problem? Any experts in this field and some helpful advice would be appriciated, where to start, what to look at/look out for and how to test ? 1 Quote
Commander Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Probably an ABS sensor has failed on the corner that took the hit? No idea about the Z, but on my M3 it's an easy / cheap fix and the lights all clear themselves after a few hundred yards of driving. Quote
veeg33 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 (edited) Sorry to hear that mate!! Get the code (OBD reader) from your zed if possible, that should point you to the right direction. Sounds like a faulty sensor as above said. Edited February 12, 2016 by veeg33 Quote
ioneabee Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 another reason to have dash cams installed 1 Quote
davedutch Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Most dash cams are only any good if powered up so don't work if parked ! Quote

SherlockH Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 That's after I've sprayed over it in black spray paint just so I can drive it for to and from work. Got a new wing to put on, car will end up getting a respray at some point Quote
88 Zed Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Nightmare! This is why there should be parking spaces like disabled or parent and child bays especially for people who care about there paintwork! Maybe a bay with a huge Z in it? Quote
SherlockH Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 Yup could really do with some images/photos or links relating to the traction control almost lost it on a roundabout and was only doing 15/20 since the system has binned itself Quote
