Rear lights

Are they drying matt or gloss? When I have tried this with previous vehicles it turns out completely matt

When I did this on a previous car it dried to a matt-like haze, but a couple of passes with a rotary polisher made it nice and shiny. I think polishing is the key to getting it look nice

I want to do this too...what product did you use? And what's the deal in terms of legality/ brightness, do I need LED/brighter bulbs or anything? I have a '53 with standard rear lights...

Legally...... Anything that makes your rear lights darker apart from the bug eyes film is illegal......

The first time I did them when they were really dark, I think I would of been pulled and it wouldn't of got through a MOT, now with only a slight tint I'm pretty sure it'll pass fine.

Would have to be someone really picking to fail on just that.

I found I haven't had to change the bulbs at all there still fine and can be seen easily but it all depends on how dark you go.
