Ging4 Ninj4 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Ok so I have a engine light and I have got a reader that won't connect to my car. I have looked at the fuses and there all fine. Does anyone know how I can get round this? Quote
veeg33 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 You can do a pedal dance to reset your ECU, that should remove the light but I would try to get a reader to find out what is actually causing it. Any noticeable difference whilst driving or idling? Pedal dance --> http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/53148-how-to-ecu-accelerator-pedal-throttle-valve-resets/ Quote

Ging4 Ninj4 Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 I already have a reader that is but it won't connect. I have looked online and some ppl said about fuse but they have been tested today. I also found a video on YouTube with the same reader and the same issue Quote
Mopedmark Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 First off have you done anything to the car, removed something put it back together etc etc, because something has caused it but you can pedal dance to clear as veeg33 has said, fairly easy to do Quote
Ging4 Ninj4 Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 I bought it this way so don't know. I will try the pedal dance Quote
veilside z Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 A good reader will be a third of the cost of an hours labour at the Nissan Main Stealer. 1 Quote
Stutopia Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 If I read this correctly, you bought the Zed with an EML but can't read it/don't know what it relates to? If you've taken that gamble, a punt on a proven code reader from one of the many threads on here shouldn't be too big a financial risk. Quote

Any noticeable difference whilst driving or idling? Pedal dance --> http://www.350z-uk.c...e-valve-resets/ The "pedal dance" will not only reset the CEL, it will allow you to read the codes. Simply pause after step 4 in the procedure in the link above (when the CEL starts blinking). The blinking pattern shows the codes that are set. To clear them, continue with step 6 and subsequent. 1 Quote

Nice one, didn't know there is a hidden morse code generator there. Do you have a list of what those blinks are referring to? For example, P1051, what would be the blink sequence? Quote
karlh Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Here's a page from the Service Manual that describes the flashing sequence for DTCs: ECU Codes.pdf 1 Quote
Ging4 Ninj4 Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 Ok so I went to a garage and there snap on read the codes and looks like a camshaft sensor. My reader still can't read so is it my car or the reader? Quote
