Baidan Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Decided to waste more money and get new plates, don't like the GB and the Syntner advert,,, so went to Halfords (I know I know) with the 1mm stickers £40 odd quid lighter, walked out noticed bloody Halfords and their post code on the plates!!. After a drive round car park and some deliberation decide I wasn't happy, so went back in, they eventually gave me plates with no advert or post code, the mgr was mithering about it being illegal to do so, even though you can them on eBay with no logo etc. so moral of this tale is, if you fancy clean plates you can get them, don't let them tell you otherwise.. No not fitted yet, and yes removing front plate bracket/holder.. Quote
Jonnymonno Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I wanted plain plates like you and had to argue to get them.. But I did in the end 1 Quote
ATTAK Z Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Manufacturer's postcode is a requirement as is BS code Quote
ATTAK Z Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 They'll be illegal then ... only suitable as show plates Quote
Baidan Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Look around any car park plenty with nowt on them.. Don't worry.. Quote
ATTAK Z Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I'm not worried ... I'm cool about plates ... just quoting the law ... not trying to enforce it Quote

The Bounty Bar Kid Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 OMG large company refusing to do illegal stuff. shock horror! Pointless thread imo. You can buy lots of stuff on eBay. Doesn't make it legal, neither does the fact that other people do it too. 2 Quote
ilogikal1 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 neither does the fact that other people do it too. No, no, no, you're mistaken, this is exactly how the law works - everything is illegal until more than 3 people do it, then it instantly becomes perfectly acceptable... I'm sure that defence excuse will hold up against a slightly picky police officer too. Quote
coyoteboy Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Show plates are legal to make and sell. Just not use on the road Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk Quote
