lomoto
I love the Alfa styling, just not brave enough to own one
sl114
I love the styling too, its just a shame the performance doesnt equal the looks for me.
sinbad
I love alfas styling but like louis the performance just lets it down and that just puts an end to even thinking about buying one. Saying that it has Ferrari links, id expect it to be alot better. Ive always also loved alfa's interiors, especially the ribbed seats, but that centre console looks dated. Apart from having a screen in it, the consoel could have come out of any older model.

Now the 350z isnt the fastest thing out there, but i have to say, it left it for dead. No it wasnt the oil burner either
Digsy
What puts me off the Brera and the Spyder is the weight. They need to go on a serious diet because that's what blunts the handling and performance.

sinbad
My friend used to work for Fiat/Alfa in preston so i got to go in quite a few. 147GTA, 156GTA and a tuned JTD, GTV V6 etc. Never got to try the Brera however as he now works for ford. Although they were quite fast, the traction control light was flickering pretty much all the time. If you turned it off they would just light up the wheels... Heavy, rubbish chassis, with a decent engine and nice interiors. Thats how i'd sum them up.
Zedrush
I love this look and for speed I love the look of the: Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione The Alfas engine has output of 450 BHP that is enough to accelerate car with composite body panels from 0-100 KPH (62 miles) in 4.5 seconds and reach 300 KPH But for the price something stupid like over a 100k, I wouldnt buy one nor be brave enough with its reliability even if it was 40k
sl114
But thats the point, look at the price tag, its silly and i wouldnt get that, id get something else that is faster, handles better and doesnt remind me i am sitting in a car shaped like a frog! docwra
My business partern bought a 159 when I bought the Zed - hes got kids, see Its gorgeous, far prettier inside and out than a Mondeo competitor has any right to be. But his 1.9 Denzil is underpowered and surprisingly boaty for my taste ......... Ill update this post in a year when it catches fire as well
davej
I spent a very happy 2 years as the custodian of a 2.5v6 166, and put 100k on it, only things that went wrong, were a dicky switch on the cruise pedal and getting parts as the 166 seemed to be more hand built than a TVR!! But i looked on it as something that had the potential of going wrong and it helped an awful lot it went into the custodianship of a specialist who knew what it was and what it needed. But yes big lumps of italian torques through the front wheels would have the t/c (decorative) flashing like billyo! I worked out that the italians are very good at leather seats, engines, and generally pretty things but possibly not so good at that elastictrickery stuff! One of the abiding memories that i'll always have is our lass took it for its mot and the pipes betwen the banks of the V6 are chromed and she had a crowd of mechanics crowded round having never seen one and one even reached into polish them! Indyzed
I've heard Alfa's aren't reliable but at least you guys get the option of not buying one Alfa is suppose to be coming stateside in '08. I hope so. We need more beautiful Italians over here.
MarkW
159 Brera There's just something wrong with the Brera's looks from the A Pillar backwards. The 159 is the prettiest 4 door saloon in production by far. From a looks point of view I would 'want' one far more than any regular 3 series, A4 etc All IMO of course
H5
They do both look good IMO. However, I am happy with a picture as that is more reliable than having one in the flesh! Too many friends and relatives had and having too many issues with them! But I would have an 8C!!
