Breakdown Cover - For a Lowered Zed

hi chaps,

my breakdown has expired with a small firm,

im looking to get a new one.

having broken down in every single car i have ever owned not yet the Z!) i am quite familiar with the way the conversation goes. one of their questions is ''is the car lowered?''

so, who do you guys use? how will they recover if its lowered, and is it a 'specialised' tow or company that offers cover on it? i assume it just means they wont use a flatbed but a dolley or A frame instead?

thought id ask before i start cold calling companies for quotes

cheers.

RAC, and every time Ive had to call Ive told them the car is low and been fine, but its pot luck at the end of the day. They wont damage a car by trying to tow it when its not going to work, but you might end up waiting for quite a few hours while they sort a low loader thing for you.

RAC for me also. I had a bad experience with the AA when my old MR2 turbo wouldn't start, the AA guy just kept trying the key until my throttle cable started smoking! He couldn't fix it at my house and had to tow me to a garage. Immediately the guy at the garage said it would be a bad earth and the smoking throttle cable would be the current finding the next best way to ground, cleaned the earth strap connection and it was fixed... shouldn't the AA guy know that?

I have Axa Assistance provided through my work and on the one occasion that I have had to use them they were as good as I could have expected. They asked on the phone if the car was modified in anyway. As I told them it was lowered they sent a low loader. Can only recommend them on my personal experience.
