ioneabee Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 The car is often left 3 or 4 days without being used and my car cam is permanently wired with a voltage checker on it (turns it off if the volts in the battery drop too much). To maintain the charge in the battery and keep my camera running - has anyone used the above ? recommend a product ? things to do / not to do ? Also noted that the ciggy lighter must be permanent live (I haven't checked this yet) Quote
Payco Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 CTEK battery charger all the way. It's a winner. Google them. Best around. Quote
JurassicZ Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I use the Carcoon battery conditioner made to manage the battery and run the carcoon if neccessary. You have a permanent connection onto the battery and a connector for easy connecting/disconnecting. Mine sits over winter with no issues. Quote
ioneabee Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 bugger - no power to the ciggy lighter when all switched off...........thats the easy solution unavailable the CTEK has a permanent connection available, which means having the bonnet popped every time I want to connect/disconnect Quote
ioneabee Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 CTEK MXS 10 .......... is this ok for our batteries ? Quote
ioneabee Posted September 1, 2015 Author Posted September 1, 2015 CTEK MXS 5.0 - http://www.ctek.com/gb/en/chargers/MXS%205.0 or CTEK MXS 10 - http://www.ctek.com/gb/en/chargers/MXS%2010 Quote

Bems Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I too have a ctek. Can't fault it. Like you say you can have permanent connectors on the battery but the cables are thin so the bonnet can be rested closed on it's catch. Quote
