  1. I'm planning on doing my P3 service tomorrow, got all my bits so been reading up on the coolant change procedure. In the service manual it talks about removing a threaded plug from the engine block to fully drain the system. Is this necessary? Or is there an alternative method to draining all the coolant out? Don't like removing things that can start leaking again... It also mentions this core plug needs resealing when refitted. If i have to remove this plus is loctite 648 ok for resealing this plug? Thank you Steve
  2. Love it!!!! So glad I went for the Amuse kit!
  3. Only just found this thread about Mountain Biking. I've not done any in a while as my bike needs fixing and sadly not got many pics but here are a few from my days when I lived in Whistler, Canada Apologies for the quality it was a very wet and rainy day with low light and a rubbish camera
  4. I have personally never bothered with trackday cover because the excess is usally £3000-£5000 pound. Therefore you need a pretty big shunt to do that much damage. I am only talking about the one day cover policies at £70 - £100 though. I have no experience of REIS but I'm definitely going to give them a call next year when my current insurance policy expires. I never knew you could get road cover that included track day insurance!!
  5. Hi Folks, Me and a mate bought two sets of used racing slicks, one for my Zed and one for his MR2 Turbo. But the set he bought don't fit under the arches so I'm offering them up for sale on his behalf. The tyres are at my house and I'll be shipping them out if anyone wants them. The tyres have been used in the Ginetta series but plenty of life left in them as you can see from the tread depth markers. Looking for what was paid for these £200. These will fit on standard 350z rims and believe it or not you can get 4 wheels and tyres in a zed for when you got to a trackday. Thanks Steve
  6. Will do mate. It's gonna probably be next week unless I get delayed doing the P3
  7. Well further update the fuel computer showed - - - - yesterday at 235 miles and the gauge was right below the red line with the orange light beaming at me. So I drove around and got it to 280 miles before I started to think I should probably fill it up, I didn't want to risk running out and causing a traffic jam. I had considered running it right down to empty and keep 5 litres in the boot to get me to a garage but figured this would dredge all the sludge into the fueld system so decided against that. I brimmed it when I filled up this morning so it was right to the top above the valve in the filler neck and the fuel gauge only went up to 3/4 full, useless. Then I drove the further 1.5 miles to work and it climbed to halfway between 3/4 and Full. I'm planning to get inside the tank over xmas and have a play with the multimeter to find what signal is coming of the level sensor. However, I have now been told there are two fuel level sensors on the Zed one behind the passenger seat built onto the pump and one behind the drivers seat - not sure if this is true but I will feedback my investiagtion results when sorted.
  8. Found this on the G35 forum, the fix probably won't be exactly the same but similar. I may have to do some investigating.... http://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/2439 ... ost4951116 Will let you know how I get on if and when I do this and post some pics, the same tank of petrol as I mentioned previously now states 205 miles done, 31 to go and the needle is now sitting right on the bottom with the fuel light on. Stupid thing
  9. Thanks mate!! Warranted it's not all dealers, probably just mine! Needless to say I stay away now unless I know exactly what I'm after... The car went in for the brake fluid changing during a service ages ago and they didn't Do it properly so I had sponges for brakes......then on a different service I asked what oil they'd put in si I could get a top up bottle, turned out they didn't know what grade it was! So I asked how can you be sure it's the right one then? Response "it's just what we put in everything" !!! Right so a 350z engine is treated like a micra there.....
  10. Just a quick one as it doesn't say in the 350z service manual do the diff and gearbox drain and fill plugs have gaskets on them? If so how many are needed? Don't wanna call into Nissan asking for gaskets that don't exist lol! They struggle even when you give them the right information! Cheers
  11. Definitely result!!! The Xmas plan is definitely lots of turkey chocolate and relaxing!
  12. This seems to be standard of most car dealerships nowadays!
  13. Well outcome is..........quadriceps tendon is inflamed and this is pushing part of the joint to catch as it has been offset. So just gotta take it easy for longer and see how it is , was also given some anti-inflamatories for it.....well at least Xmas break is coming up to chill out
  14. ^^^^^^^^^^^ OUCH Well it's my results day tomorrow so we'll see what the shebang is....
  15. Thats exactly what mine does, fine until you get to a quarter of a tank left then the fuel computer and the gauge just do whatever they want, currently I've done 80 miles, fuel computer predicts 260 left and the gauge says 3/4 full so it works right until you get low down. I did notice when I had the Car UpReved the fuel computer and gauge starting working correctly again for about 3 months then went mad again. Why that would make a difference I have no idea
  16. Thanks mate, in that case I'll stay away from the Buddy Club, I want something quieter than my K1. Don't want to be that annoying neighbour starting up his car at 6am and waking up the village! Thanks Coldel that would be awesome if you could CrumbMc i'm liking the vids thank you , the Gemini does indeed sound good and it does sound the kind of noise I'm after as well as being able to live with it day to day. The K1 has provided enough drama for me over the last few years lol ready to get into the smoking jacket and slippers of something quieter I'm still not ruling out modding the K1 into a true dual because I really do love the look of those cans without the bungs...
  17. Mine is exactly the same and the fuel computer goes mad as well. I've had mine say 15 miles left when I've only done 180 miles off a tank driving steady where I would normally get 300. Then within a mile it can change back to 100 miles left, its stupid, really does my head in I've also had the sutuation where it swears i'm on empty, go to the garage and it will only take 40 litres. I just ignore it now and fill up after 280 miles. If someone knew how to fix it I would be stoked to say the least!
  18. Well I think the time has come to get a new exhaust which is a wee bit quieter than the k1. I've had the K1 a couple of years now and love the sound with the bungs in but hate it with them out (I must be getting old). Also love the way it looks with those bungs out. It does do my head in on the motorway though droning away. However, next year I'm planning on getting some HFC's and it seems pointless if I'm keeping the K1 and running with the bungs in... Therefore its time to get something new I think. Bunged the K1 on a static test is 94Db. I've short listed the following options: Buddy Club Invidia Gemini Miltek Modified k1 to true dual with more inline silencers to get it quieter Does anyone know the 3/4RPM static test volume for the 3 exhausts I've listed above or have any general comments about these coupled with HFCs? Cheers Steve
  19. Also one of my favourite forum cars, sad to see her go. Good luck mate!!!
  20. Typically the OEMs go for About £100-£200 which probably wouldn't cover the cost of your recent refurb unfortunately. Sorry dude.
  21. I've had a K1 for a few years now and love the sound it makes with the bungs in but it's far too loud with them out. I wish I could make it sound like it does with the bungs in with them out. I also love the aggressive look of the cans. However I'm considering getting a new exhaust because I want to get some HFCs and I don't see the point in decating the car then running with the bungs in, kinda defeats the object of the HFCs..... I would follow the HFCs up with a remap at RS tuning as already have the UpRev licence. Alternatively I might go somewhere like Exhausts UK and have the K1 converted to a true dual system (just to keep the look of the cans) but fit some inline silencers so it will overall be quieter than the bunged K1 is now and flow better...... Or alternatively get an Invidia Gemini, or Miltek and some HFCs ....arghhhhh decisions! For info at 3/4 max RPM (static test) the bunged k1 is 93-94Db the unbunged k1 is 103-104Db Cheers
