2 is a much bigger jump to the 1 than the 3 is to the 2. I use a non-3G iPad 2 with 16GB, so the baby of the range but it suits me perfectly as I don't need 3G (in an emergency I'd use my iPhone) and I only store apps on the iPad so don't need a huge amount of storage. What you want to use it for will depend on what spec you need.

Pretty sure myself and Colin both have legal experience, unless I'm getting Colin mixed up with someone completely different. I chose not to pursue a career in law, but certainly my time studying law at A Level wasn't entirely wasted albeit it was a while ago! I'm not saying that I'm a super huge expert, but I do have a rough clue what I'm talking about on this. I can't see the link between s13 of SOGA and what happened here? The description of the service supplied was accurate, tyres were changed and fitted, albeit incorrectly. It would more fall under s14 if anything, unless that's what you meant and it was merely a typo. Again though, the OP is going to have a tough time proving that the garage were the last ones to touch the tyres & wheels unless he literally drove straight out of their place and into the Autodrome. If they admit their mistake in writing (and more fool them if they do), then it's a completely different story. If anything (and we're all assuming the tyre was the cause of this crash, it could well be driver error and the tyre delaminated during the slide, not after) the claim would be against the garage and then via Vredestein themselves for supplying a tyre not fit for purpose, however you then need it sent away for expensive tests to prove this. Running it on track won't help your cause as they'll just say that it's a road tyre, not a track one, and no warranty under that usage is implied. Good call about the MOT mind, although that in itself isn't illegal (for example, a garage is fully allowed to fit a decat pipe to a car, it's up to the driver to ensure that the car will pass an MOT unless the original contract specifies otherwise). @Ricey: Would I go back and complain? As I've said, yes I would, but on the basis that a bit of complaining may get me something. Certainly any legal attempt at redress isn't going to work here due to the circumstances. Yes, I'd be pi**ed at the garage for not fitting the tyres correctly, but I'd accept fault as the driver and move on as the OP originally started to do before all this tyre stuff came out. Other than name and shame and try to get some karma back that way, this is a dead end and the OP would be better putting his efforts and money into getting the car sorted. If nothing else, this is a great example of why I won't do a TD in the 911 without track insurance. Haydn, RP and Ricey, I'm really not trying to pick at you guys, I sincerely mean that despite how this post comes across. You're all just trying to help the OP, as we all are on here, and tbh this is one of the better threads I've seen of late in terms of members trying to help one another. I simply just disagree with your points, certainly not your goals behind them.

If you're going to take this legally, then you're going to need a letter from Nissan and Vredestein stating that the car would be dangerous to drive if the tyres & wheels were mixed up like that. If not the manufacturers, then some very good specialists in the field. A complaint letter might work and you might get a goodwill gesture, but it's very unlikely as well given that you could've removed the wheels yourself between leaving the garage and going out on track, or they could've been switched around after the accident, or any time inbetween. No-one is saying that's what happened, but on the balance of probabilities that could well be the case. For me, it's a non-starter as you should always check the condition of the car before setting off on any journey, never mind on track. I'm not saying I'm perfect in that regard, and I might well have missed that as well, but that's what the garage will say in court and then you're stuffed. Sadly I think you can only write this off to experience, and it will just have to serve as a warning to others to check the little things like this when leaving a garage. I'm not trying to get at you here mate, far from it, but any legal challenge is going to be a costly nightmare to follow through with at this stage and I can't see it being very winnable unless you can get an extremely good (read: expensive) solicitor. And people still think I'm bonkers for banging on about how important tyres are on cars. The sizes here weren't even that far out, but you can bet your ass they contributed to this.

lolwut It's no more dangerous than any other car ever made in the entire world in standing water. If you're running the OEM A048s then you need to be a bit careful, but that's just common sense and equally applies to folks running R888s on their Zeds. I never had a single issue with the VXR220 on 48s ever. Also it doesn't have VTEC, it has VVTLi

I very much doubt that the delamination would've had anything to do with how the tyres were mounted on the car, but it would've made for some 'interesting' handling traits at least.

Rears too hot + trail braking = massive oversteer, especially on that corner which is hella fast but also the riskiest one on the circuit. I'm not trying to rub it in or anything, just hoping you know why it happened rather than just write it off as one of those random things. Not that you've done that at all, in fact you're exactly how I hope I'll be if/when I ever have a big accident on track, definitely gutted but still taking it all the right way. I hope you get your car fixed up real soon, def go see the chaps at Abbey. My brother span like crazy at the same corner a few weeks back in his Cayman R, he was just lucky not to hit anything.

If you want the quicker car and the better handling one, then get the coupe. If you want a better driving experience, then get the ragtop. I loved my old Roadster, but it was always compromised in the handling by not having a proper roof. You can get round that by adding bracing, but you're always better off with the coupe unless you absolutely must be able to drop the roof. If I were buying again as a car to drive hard, I'd buy a coupe. If I was buying one as a GT cruiser, I'd definitely take the convertible. As far as drifting goes, unless you're looking to compete at a professional level then the roadster will be fine.

I did my race licence test at Bedford in a VXT, was the sheddiest thing I've ever driven: It was like stirring a bucket of bricks trying to find a gear, they were definitely well-used! Wasn't too bad for me though as I was obviously used to driving them, but the guys who had come down in their FWD hatches had a bit of a shock. Thought that was a bit harsh myself.

Another ex-VX®220 owner here. If you can live with the possibility of ice inside the windscreen in the winter, then there's no reason not to get one. Every journey is an adventure, and it's a proper driving experience that makes the Zed feel like a bus. You mention about one being almost as equally fun as the 350: It's not, it's waaaay more fun. All parts are cheaper than on the Zed, so running costs are minimal, and there's a mass of aftermarket parts out there for them. S or non-S Exige?

Those covers definitely aren't MOTable any more, the new regs specifically exclude anything that can affect the light output. On the upside, it does mean you can get rid of those horrible reflectors on the numberplate now! Brave choice on the wheel colour, but I think it's worked well, especially in conjunction with the other bits you've had done to match

Is not what I heard... Is that your ONLY reason to exist? At least you could do it on a larger scale, not only on this forum! Pray tell, what did you hear? Colour me intrigued... If we're talking about on a grander scale than an interweb forum, then I guess we could include procreation as well. I'm often being told to f*ck off, so I assume they're referring to this.
