  1. Probably a geo if he's finding it that twitchy, tell him to go get it done by someone what knows Elises.
  2. In short: S1 111S had a 1.8 K-series motor Early S2 111S was the same but in the newer body, same lump 111R was the 1.8 Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine, 189bhp 111S after that was the 1.8 Toyota 1ZZ-FE engine, 138bhp Very confusing.
  3. lolwut It's no more dangerous than any other car ever made in the entire world in standing water. If you're running the OEM A048s then you need to be a bit careful, but that's just common sense and equally applies to folks running R888s on their Zeds. I never had a single issue with the VXR220 on 48s ever. Also it doesn't have VTEC, it has VVTLi
  4. I very much doubt that the delamination would've had anything to do with how the tyres were mounted on the car, but it would've made for some 'interesting' handling traits at least.
  5. Wheels accidentally swapped round when having the tyres changed?
  6. Rears too hot + trail braking = massive oversteer, especially on that corner which is hella fast but also the riskiest one on the circuit. I'm not trying to rub it in or anything, just hoping you know why it happened rather than just write it off as one of those random things. Not that you've done that at all, in fact you're exactly how I hope I'll be if/when I ever have a big accident on track, definitely gutted but still taking it all the right way. I hope you get your car fixed up real soon, def go see the chaps at Abbey. My brother span like crazy at the same corner a few weeks back in his Cayman R, he was just lucky not to hit anything.
  7. If you want the quicker car and the better handling one, then get the coupe. If you want a better driving experience, then get the ragtop. I loved my old Roadster, but it was always compromised in the handling by not having a proper roof. You can get round that by adding bracing, but you're always better off with the coupe unless you absolutely must be able to drop the roof. If I were buying again as a car to drive hard, I'd buy a coupe. If I was buying one as a GT cruiser, I'd definitely take the convertible. As far as drifting goes, unless you're looking to compete at a professional level then the roadster will be fine.
  8. I did my race licence test at Bedford in a VXT, was the sheddiest thing I've ever driven: It was like stirring a bucket of bricks trying to find a gear, they were definitely well-used! Wasn't too bad for me though as I was obviously used to driving them, but the guys who had come down in their FWD hatches had a bit of a shock. Thought that was a bit harsh myself.
  9. Another ex-VX®220 owner here. If you can live with the possibility of ice inside the windscreen in the winter, then there's no reason not to get one. Every journey is an adventure, and it's a proper driving experience that makes the Zed feel like a bus. You mention about one being almost as equally fun as the 350: It's not, it's waaaay more fun. All parts are cheaper than on the Zed, so running costs are minimal, and there's a mass of aftermarket parts out there for them. S or non-S Exige?
  10. Those covers definitely aren't MOTable any more, the new regs specifically exclude anything that can affect the light output. On the upside, it does mean you can get rid of those horrible reflectors on the numberplate now! Brave choice on the wheel colour, but I think it's worked well, especially in conjunction with the other bits you've had done to match
  11. No radio/CDs/music. Concentrate on the drive, time flies past.
  12. Coolant temp is perfectly fine, stop worrying the poor guy!
  13. Should be fine to top up with, if it's been more than 2 years since a brake fluid change then I'd do one anyway.
  14. Seems quite the bargain at first look, assuming it drives okay
  15. I'd better get that other seat fitted first!
  16. Is not what I heard... Is that your ONLY reason to exist? At least you could do it on a larger scale, not only on this forum! Pray tell, what did you hear? Colour me intrigued... If we're talking about on a grander scale than an interweb forum, then I guess we could include procreation as well. I'm often being told to f*ck off, so I assume they're referring to this.
  17. Ekona, why do you exist? Because sometimes people need the truth telling. I'm dead good at that, see?
  18. MOT fail Apparently I'm not as confident in the sills as the experts, it failed on both inner sills and offside outer sill for corrosion. Also failed on nearside body or chassis has unsatisfactory modification within 30cms of body mountings, possibly the bodge job I made on the pax floor pan with the seat humps at the weekend Also failed on pax sidelight bulb gone and they couldn't get the emission limits down for the fast idle test. CO 0.04% (limit is 0.30) HC 24ppm (200) Lambda 1.08 (0.97 - 1.03) It's booked in for a bit of welding & retest in a couple of weeks, so will get it all sorted then. Had a couple of advisories on the missing pax seat (!), minor exhaust leak by the cat and oil leak on the front of the engine. No idea where the leak is coming from, there's zero oil on the road under the car outside my house, must be tiny. I won't say I'm not disappointed, but I shouldn't really be surprised. It's all common stuff for the '5, and it is almost 20 years old. I've just never had an MOT fail before, I feel like less of a man Also, the pics I promised the other day: Like I said, the harness really isn't suitable for use with those seats, hence my need to get the proper ones in ASAP.
  19. IT'S NOT BULLYING YOU CRETIN, IT'S BANTER. Bit of a difference.
  20. That Agera is hideous in those colours, great spot though mate
  21. Bullying? For that comment? Infraction? It's an Internet forum, not a workplace FFS.
  22. Another tip for keeping a rabbit: Never steal the batteries for use in the TV remote. The missus goes mad when she finds out. Great post by the OP, I've had loads of pets over the years (including rabbits) and that's some great advice there
  23. It's £4 a week. How much extra is the 135i going to cost you to purchase?
