  1. Thanks Guys - yeah trouble with bleedin work trips abroad - its all about work innit? They never let you spend a day or 3 just wandering around and taking pics etc do they? Ok so its June/July/August then - I will need a laptop to connect to the forum when I hear my clicking axles (dont we just turn the stereo up to drown that noise out?) Then I will need to borrow a dingy for the first bit to Russia/China and then well its easy just £5000 on fuel bills to get back to blighty - sounds fair to me if I get a shiny new Zed ragtop (think of the suntan I will get) for £8K - still cheaper than here and I can bore people to death about the trip for ever more! I'm sold! Any other advice about Japan? Places to visit (mount Fuji etc)??
  2. Well those 16 year old kids will probably be trying to find the Girls Aloud CD cover to disuss the finer points of ladies makeup, hair styles and white high heel shoes - which can be useful in car stuck in mud scenarios? Did you mention sunshine in Yorkshire? Heavens above what ever will they think of next! Hope you have dry boots in the morning!
  3. Cool - thanks - I've been meaning to plan a trip out for some time - I better get my bum in gear - mind you if I do get a ragtop Zed this year I wont have the dosh to do that Maybe I should buy my Zed over there and drive it back? Hmm looking at world map though - its either Russia or China to get through ?
  4. Hi I always fancied going to Japan for an extended holiday break? Has anyone done this? If so where, when is best time to go and how did you get there? Thanks Stan
  5. We dont mind white but please - go and lie down and think happy 350Z thoughts non of this BMW blasphamy! Get a grip man! Saw a 300C on the motorway last night in white (did'nt think they made em in white) and it looked le pooches swing pouches!
  6. Doh sorry Nicola - forgot to mention the following: Get the hairdrier out - dry the whole lot off if you can, - place a couple of sheets of kitchen paper in the area where you think things may get wet - close everything up, get a hose pipe and lightly sprinkle the back /top of the car - switch off - see if you can follow where the water flows and see if it rests on any edges of the car - this is a slow process of elimination but it should help? Better you find it than the dealers - they will just keep it in all day get some 16 year old kid to play with your CD's for a few hours then say - nope nowt wrong wiv it?
  7. Hi Nicola I'm after a roadster myself so thats 3 of us then on the forum!! This is a concern for me as it will be living outdoors all year round? (Have you been to Bury! ) Unfortunatley never seen inside of one up close yet - but off for a test drive at dealers next Saturday - I will have a good nosey around and see if there is anything obvious to check for? My previous roadsters (MR2 -sorry folks) had a couple of leaks but it was just the rubber seal on the top of the window frame - it was not seated properly in the hood. Only other thing is to check there are no leaves (if you park near trees) clogging up any drain holes etc? Sorry cant be more help but until I have a proper shuftie I wont know how it all fits together? Stan
  8. Yeah your right mate - probably has a couple of Renaults to keep going also - and even an Alfa - guy probably has loads of debt just to cover the cost of the French breakdown services he must need!
  9. Interesting - thanks - I will see what figures they come out with next week then?
  10. Digsy how did it end up on the shores of sunny Oldham ?
  11. BBC News report: Police interrogate rogue trader Jerome Kerviel, the reported rogue trader The trader thought to have cost one of France's biggest banks 4.9bn euros ($7.1bn; £3.7bn) is in police custody. Jerome Kerviel is being held for questioning about the alleged fraud at the French bank, Societe Generale. Poor sod was only trying to pay for his next Zed service and usual running costs -I heard he was just booking a nice weekend trip in his Zed (obviously) to take his girlfriend up the Oxo Tower and we alll know how expensive it is in London!!
  12. Ah well thats because your extreme warp factor 10 light speed caused a small disruption in the space time continum - and you didnt notice the darkness caused by my Pathfinder blocking out the sun for the short time I past you!!! Funny you should mention the Bala run I was gonna ask when the next event is in that part of the world? In particular when are you lot meeting up at St Davids park hotel doodar? I cant seem to find the details on the forum probably not searching the site properly? Even funnier though - I stopped off at Oldham's Emporium of Nissan perversion and asked when they are getting their demo car in as they hav'nt phoned me yet? Booked to test drive roadster next saturday and get quotes on both buy out and contract options? Coincidentally 2 Zeds up for sale in car park - 1 silver 1 black did'nt get time to look at them though - lets see what happens nextweekend? Fatal stuff I will be strong leave my wallet at home just in case?
  13. Naaa were not mental we are all just a bunch of flapjacks and puddin's !
  14. After a long Zed drought - what do I see before me but a cheeky and shiny little Azure blue coupe whizzing past (west bound) in the coned area towards roundabut at 4:30pm ish tonight on the way home ? Any of our North Wales contributers? I dont think you were erm.. doing 40mph in that bit - just before the speed camera judging by the way the light bent around you in your wake!
  15. That may be but if BMW made cakes - the standard sponge layer would be very basic, the icing would cost extra - the hundreds and thosands an absolute fortune and dont even think about the cream - only directors could afford that! All the Sales reps would insist on metallic icing colours, and they would have blueteeth installed to connect their blueberries to it! (ooooooh sorry could'nt resist!) Oh dear think I have started something here! Pick your fave brand in the style of cakes! www.350z-uk.com - the cake comparison website!
  16. Wadda ya mean - these things are on the telly so they must be factual! Maybe Nissan use Smarties instead of LED's for the tail lights, which is why they are so bright and Uncle Joes mint balls as wheel bearings!
  17. Cool maybe you should post a new thread with all the info on so the rest of us know what to expect!
  18. Your kiddin are'nt ya - you dont see Zed's anywhere not even in Nissan showrooms or car parks!
  19. I dont blame her! Get rid! Following on with my Audi experience just because its got a fancy badge does'nt mean its any good ! The month after the engine was rebuilt - the gas pedal broke, fell off (£50) then a few weeks later the window winder mechanism - drivers side - cable snapped - cant get a a cable have to buy the whole unit (£100) - I took it apart got a £3.00 Handbrake cable from a Motorbike shop and replaced it! While I was doing all this work I noticed the so called Audi quality parts are not very good quality - most of them were stamped with made in Hungary, the plastics felt really brittle. I learnt the hard way so I always check behind the glossy finish on the top of a car - they are doing an **** on us - expensivly sold T-shirts made for peanuts! Sorry still a sore point even though it was years ago!
  20. No ... just havin a laugh ! There are only so many repeats of the same Top Gear episodes a man can physically watch! Digital Telly its the future!
  21. Its obvious really they use the same paint supplier that Skoda use? Skoda even show it on the telly when they manufacture their cars - I mean you have to give it to them - they have very careful shop floor workers who take great care in assembling the cars but they seem to make Skodas from sponge cake and icing sugar! So when they say the paint is enviro friendly as it is water based there - you go - icing sugar! Not surprised really? Maybe they should incorporate some artificial chemicals such as Sunny D to help make it more durable? What do you think? Any ideas on further improvements?
  22. Hope you get something sorted with Nissan soon? I am guessing this engine does'nt have a external rubber cambelt? but chain or gears ?? Is that right? If so at least its just your pump and not worse! (Cambelt tensioner went on my 3 year old Audi A4 - few years ago - £1100 top end rebuild - DO NOT TOUCH AUDI's with a bargepole and AUDI UK makes Nissan UK look like caring sharing souls!) Glad to hear other people also have the golden dealer rule - Dont wash the f****in car!!!! Why do you want your average 16 year old to use those brushes attached to a hose - just sliding grit around your lovely paint work! Cool Jacko - probably see your car around - should'nt be hard - only one around!

  24. Your right its all about looking past their initial, immediate gratification and thinking further afield! Is it not better to have a steady stream of loyal customers return over and over than burning someone for serious cash and thinking they are Numero uno Sales bod! Greed! Don't get me wrong there's nowt wrong with making money its all about how you do it and ensure you treat people fairly and with respect . Ha when was the last time that happend to you? Ohh I'm getting all deep and meaningful there sorry! (wonder if that chick has still got her Zed stuck in the mud! ) Stan
