  1. Your right mate but you dont expect them to have common sense do you! Thats the touble with a lot of companies - they are so keen on making money every where they lose out in the end! Whats the point of holding out getting max profit from a niche market car when its better to lose a few quid, sell it and your likely to get the follow up business with servicing etc when you can really fleece them! Crazy fools! Greed eh?
  2. Cool! Random website how did you find that one - no actually better not ask! Eastern European chicks covered in mud.com! Of course I had to look for research purposes.....
  3. Thanks for that guys - yes its a cool colour - I've never seen one at the dealers though - mind you I've never see soddin' Zeds at dealers ! Anything you want as along as its a Micra, X trail or a Cashcow! So I have a 3 colour option then which gives me more flexibilty when I am looking. Top stuff I even like the chilli red and white - neither of which I would normally go for - hell I even like silver !
  4. Thanks guys Thats some more useful info for us all impending buyers or part-exers! I did'nt know about the demo /second hand sales thing? Bottom line for me if I was to buy brand new again then I would have to keep it 4-5 years this time at least offset the depreciation someway? Also if they are going to produce a new 350Z in 09 - then either we wait another 12 months (save up) and buy a cheaper 08 model or maybe they will have a deal on for you to buy the new 09 model? Who knows....... Stan
  5. Whats the twilight grey like? Is it s dirty version of gunmetal ? I am after an 07 roadster and that colour is an option after black ,midnight blue ! I agree the ragtop does have a bum the size of beyonce's arse and the coupe looks more like yer slinky kylie! Trouble is once you've had a soft top you cant go back to a stuffy tintop!
  6. With all this impending market crash doom from the States on the news recently - maybe a good time to buy a new 350Z from the stealers? I mean who in their right mind is going to want to buy a gas guzzling expensive sports car in this climate? They will take your arm off? What do you recon - ?? ........Every cloud?
  7. Yeah I heard that also - think they wanna go for the Toyota / Lexus thing dont they - try to lift Nissans' image in the UK? Funny badge though it has! Cars look quite cool that I have seen so far ? As long as they dont ditch the 350 .........
  8. Had something similar with RRG Toyota group (North West) - spread cost of services and also get discount on Parts -it worked out okay - when you sell the car and you have any credit left against it - they refund it which is nice! I would be interested to hear your findings with Nissan. Stan
  9. - true indeed - this is where my Pathfinder outshines the Zed I guess!
  10. M56 Widnes Triangle strikes again (Tuesday 07:30ish) they closed the M56 East bound of course the rubberneckers have bunged up the west bound side. Hope the poor sods got out okay? Did'nt look too bad though?
  11. Ha ha blimey hope you hillbillies have good handbrakes! Rest of us folk gotta live on the lower shires!
  12. Yikes just seen the news hope your all okay and not flooded out? I suppose if you were you would'nt be reading this right now! Got a river in front of my house and its pretty damn high - ducks are sailing past at speed! Never seen anything like it! Those poor sods in Yorkshire!
  13. Ha - hey maybe when you are doing 100mph in your Classic 350Zed and you get stopped by the police you can plead ignorance that you could'nt see the speedo needle because of your poor eyesight!
  14. Yeah I agree - its worse with the roadworks but it just seems to be a bleedin car in a ditch magnet round there ! Every week it was last year! Sorry I'm ok now - calm calm calm ....... Thats funny! But not surprising ! In a similar vein my mate worked on the Manchester Metro link , he told me some corkers - they put the tram rails in too close together so they had to be dug up - then they put them in upside down! So they had to be dug up - then they were set in a special shock absorbing compound in the town centre to stop the trams breaking the glass windows of the office blocks - and the compound failed - so guess what - they had to be dug up! You gotta love this country!
  15. Anyone travelling on M56 between Chester Services and Rockferry Powerstation, where they have those spacing chevrons - do you recon thats the reason why we have so many accidents on that stretch? Or is this the Burmuda Triangle of Widnes?! Every week so it seems regardless of weather theres a smash in that area- I know the rain has not stopped recently but its really doing my goat! They should burn those damn chevrons off no one takes any notice of them and is either up close behind the guy in front or when you leave a space Meester White Van dives in front of you! Makes me maaaaad - sorry feel better now!
  16. Hi - I think the guys just answered for me. When I have not had a car to part -ex they have always offered a better deal - don't forget that it does'nt cost Nissan £29K to manufacture and ship a 350Z to UK!! There is a serious margin here ! I have always arranged a personal loan for my cars so effectively your a cash buyer to them. As mentioned go at the end of the month and late on in the day when they are tired and not really in the mood to deal with you. Fridays are best I have found? Sad but it works! Remember its just a big game to them - they think we are all stupid and some of us are so learn from our mistakes and take advantage. Oh if part-exing make sure you dont forget to take the road tax out just before you leave (if its got some time left on it) Any optional bits you got with your old car such as full size spare wheel kits (£170 on my old RX8!!!) take them with you - and sell them on yourself later I forgot to -Doh! Good luck and like the others have said keep calm dont get annoyed - remember they need you not the other way round there are a lot of Nissan dealers in Uk ! If they have your number they will phone you usually the following week - greed is a good motivator! Do your homework on the web, I have even had a price match from Chester Nissan for my Ditchfinder against a web direct sales company? One other thing I have found - if buying a more upmarket or sports car go to a town which is well heeled - there is more competition from Porkers, Audi's etc so to them its just another car. If buying a basic town runabout (say Micra) then go to shall we say a not so well heeled town where that is the common type car - I know this sounds strange but I found this out during my car buying travels? Odd !! Good luck Stan
  17. Good luck with MRI scan hope things work out? I could recommend a Nissan Pathfinder - good firm seats and excellent ride, keeps your back straight, excellent long distance cruiser,- easy to get in and out of, 32- 42 mpg on motorways 2.5 diesel turbo engine, or if you can spare the fuel costs go for the petrol version (discontinued now) but supposed to go like stink and you can probably buy for a packet of sweets since no one wants bigger engined petrol vehicle these days? Buy one in white and paint a big UN logo on the doors! Mazda 6 also very good - since new one is out now you should get a good deal on the previous shape. Dont forget the Chrysler 300CRD - however I did'nt find the seats to be very supportive unfortunately - I am used to planks of wood for my seats so they felt a bit soggy? Stan
  18. I think they look quite cool? Bet they are quite cheap to buy if you import one from Japan yourself? Hmm interesting (he says in his best Bond villan accent) Now if only I could buy a new Zed Roadster over also there and drive it back?
  19. We must be related. I've done the same thing when I was'nt sure I had turned the gas fire off or did I close the upstairs window ?l Even though I had definitely Lifes too short ..........
  20. Seen a Jap import (53 plate) around town recently and thought - hmm that looks strangley familiar but different ? http://www.nissannews.com/infiniti/2005 ... ndex.shtml Looks like they have the same roof and stretch or shrink the body for the other similar models they are bringing out? Stan
  21. Sorry to hear about all the sh**e you have had mate? Hope you get the car sorted soon? (I am interested particulary as I am after that model also!) I know its a difficult time don't give up on the Zed though keep focused - as can be seen from all the replies on the forum we have all had bad experiences with our cars regardless of make or model. Its definitely worth travelling to find a decent dealer. If anyone is North West based I can recommend West Way Nissan Oldham they have generally been great - even when the turbo exploded on my X trail the day before it was to be part ex'd for my Pathfinder (dont ask) they were cool about it. I always get a courtesy car no hassle at all (They know I work in Wales and live in Bury) so they try to get me either another Pathfinder or at least a larger car - Girls on the helpdesk sort it and because its a small dealership you get to know all the people including the mechanics. Nissan Chester appear to be a great on sales (price matching) bad on after service from my experience and expensive. Westway Rochdale - are run by 12 year old children who dont seem to know much about erm these things called Nissan's? Keep us posted on progress and good luck. Stan
  22. Yup that is a worry I must admit - worse bit are the salesmen thrashing them from cold at the dealers!
  23. Hi - welcome You will get a discount if buying brand new how much depends on the dealers - but if you dont have a part-ex you will definitly get a good deal. Personally I would say - go for a 3-6 months old ex demo - if your prepared to travel you can get a reasonable deal - for example on the Nissan used car site (I quite fancy this one myself) there are 2 black roadsters - both same age 07 plate - one has about 7000 miles on clock the other has 3 ! The one with 3 miles on the clock is about £100 dearer - no brainer eh! Like you I am only interested in the leather seats also but its worth going for the GT version for potential resale value later - I know we all say we will keep them forever but ............! Keep us updated on progress! Stan
  24. Yeah I agree with you - my 8 was the same - really good paint and top build, having said that the paint on my Nissan Pathfinder is pretty tough - so its just down to weight saving I guess on the Z- you know how obsessed they are about that sort of thing? If its lease then don't worry about it ! Unfortunately they all suffer from the worse evil known to car fans - accidentally catching the paintwork with your hosepipe when cleaning it Stan
