  1. Blimey.

I feel Ive got to post at least a little bit on here, but please dont ban me too. ;)

Jord is a good friend of mine and is an intelligent, down to earth feller - he has been part of the jap car scene for a while and has owned (and still does) some extremely nice cars. Both of us drift regularly and indeed he is a judge for the British Drift Championship.

Having been drifting cars for over 5 years now, I can support what he has said regarding the safety of stretched tyres – Ive never seen a stretched tyre debead or fall off a rim, often even when running them to the point they actually blow out. There is a lot of negativity around regarding running stretch, but if its not a problem on a car going sideways at 100+mph I cant accept it is for cars running on the road either. I have run stretch up to 225 on a 10J rim with no issues, and the new wheels I have for my Z33 will be either a 225 or 235 on a 10J as well.

We get a lot of the same about welded diffs as well. Again, having run one for 5 years and knowing loads of others who have its not actually a problem.

Ive not been on this site long, so feel free to tell me Im an arse, but I don’t see how placing personal opinions regarding price and style on a For Sale thread is helpful for anyone. For sure, if you feel that the tyres might not be safe then that’s helpful information, but personal opinion isn’t. I know (I have over 40 JDM wheels in various sizes) that those wheels are rocking horse and are well worth the money he is selling them for.

I cant see that what car they came off of has anything to do with anything, and if the tyres are worn, so what?? They are secondhand wheels, Id expect it myself.

Fresh import on a car is secondhand, why not for a set of wheels?

As for drifting fooking wheels beyond comprehension ………. How, exactly? They are bloody great lumps of metal with tyres round them.

Sorry if Ive offended anyone, but I probably wont be selling any wheels here in the future if this is the response you can expect.

    Oh, and for the record:

That’s looks pretty good to me and both are bigger front and back than Jords.

    Red Z33: [F]19x9.5 +4 [R]19x10.5 -15

    Silver Z33: [F]19x9.5 -6 [R]19x10 -15

  2. Ive had a good few over the years - massive, comfortable and bloody fast is 3 win points in my book. Stick them on springs and 17's and they handle surprisingly well as well. Definitely one of my 2nd/3rd car recommendations

  3. It was pretty low speed really - probably only 20-30mph when I hit the sign, and Im pretty confident it wont have damaged anything serious as the sideskirt is still attached the the car and nothing hit the wheels - Ill get it Geo checked anyway though.

Hopefully work will start in a couple of weeks and Ill obviously be whoring pics of it on here once its done :D You'll have to make do with the mentalistic rims for now though.

  4. Mad - Ive bought stuff from Alex as well in the past. Dont think he has what I need atm though :(

    Pics?? Here we go:

Entirely my fault, although I wasnt actually going that quickly. Ive got some nice stuff to go onto it including the most insane wheels evarrr so its not too bad really :)

thanks for those that have replied - the only bits I need are those listed though

  5. After an unplanned roadsign/ditch/hedge interface, Im currently looking for the following for a 350Z:

    Both front wings

    Both doors

    Both headlights (facelift preferred)

    Windscreen washer bottle

    LHS front fender indicator.

Dont mind on condition particularly as they will be resprayed so colour isnt important either. What have you got? :)

  6.

They both had rubbish handling IMO.

Nice to cruise on the motorway but not a hard driving car.

Standard suspension is rubbish - first thing to do is to get shocks and springs on, or even better coilovers. Stick an exhaust, air filter, front mount intercooler on, wind the boost up a bit and you are looking at a car thats quicker than the Zed and nearly as good in the corners for not much more than £2K.

The older S13's can be picked up for 1K now, and the S14s start from about 2K - theres loads of support for them and plenty of mods about to do what you want with it - as a second, fun car they are pretty much unbeatable for the money

  7. Yeah I'm going, 4th year in a row. I think I saw Big Phil in his blue Z last year driving past the Bikini Car wash.

Its a mad time, and always come back with legend tales

    What! Bikini Carwash????? :teeth:

Dont know what you are talking about :D[/img]

  8. those are not going to come close to fitting unless you have a very very very wide wide-body kit

This is why I want to know the offset on my current wheels though - if they are an 8.5 ET30, then its 89mm further out. 20mm of that is the existing arch, and I reckon another 20mm can be got from a decent flare on the arch ........ EDIT - they are a +30. Good guess huh?? :D

If my calculations (and assumption on the Rays offset) is right, then I could get away with anything up to a 10J ET0 :D

  9. Its all about the single figure offset ;)

Can you tell me (Ive searched this before as well) what the offset on the OE Rays wheels is then please? I know they are 18x8.5's ......... but not a lot else. :surrender:

And no, Im not letting on yet as you will all copy me :D

  10. Had a search about but couldnt find a definitive answer on this one ..........

Im after some new wheels and have my eye on a set atm - the fronts are 18x10J -3 and rears 18x11J -16. Nice. B)

Q is, will they fit straight on?? The rears are pretty fat, and its them Im worried about most really, so if anyone could help Id appreciate it :)

Additionally, has anyone had the arches on their Zed rolled or flared?? Is it possible with the flat sides??

    Cheers

  11. Aye, mine is a bit shaky at the moment - Im initiating drifts (on private land of course) with no more than 3.5K revs, which is scary when you think about it.

Having said that, Ive got rubbish Nankangs on that dont help matters - Im trying to kill them as quckly as possible so I can get some Toyos or Falken 452's

  12. Well, 350 wheels fit the S14, so Id imagine they can do it the other way :)

Because 350 wheels are 2" bigger than the S14, no they might not go the other way..... ;)

Eh?? Surely if that was an issue it would the other way round - the S14 wouldnt be able to take the 18's, not the 350 not being able to take the 16's?? ;)

A stadard S14 16 would be too skinny and small for drifting IMO anyway - I use 17's on both of my drift cars, and one of them is only 200 bhp. Drifting is actually all about grip, not the lack of it :)

We are talking about them clearing brake discs and calipers, not whether they fit in the arches..... ;)

    Spacers old boy, spacers ;)

S14 wheels have a lot more clearance than S13 or Z32 ones ........... well, a few mm anyway :)

  13. Im going - 3rd year in a row actually :)

Hoping to take the Z but wondering how Im going to fit all of the essential crap in the back - meeting with up to 50 SXOC owners as well so if you want to join in let me know :D

Were staying at Kartin Nord BTW, but I think its sold out now - tickets are going fast this year :)

  14. Well, 350 wheels fit the S14, so Id imagine they can do it the other way :)
