I know its not politically correct, but do a massive burnout somewere quiet and if you have an "11" behind you you have an LSD. If you have a "1" then its an O-Pen diff.
Alternatively jack the back of the car up so both wheels are in the air and spin one - if the other goes the same way its an LSD, if not its open. This is less fun than the first method.

You got me thinking there Trev - is there anything that the 350 is better than the Porsche for??
-
Glyn Hopkin in MK and Marshalls are the only two Ive ever heard anyone have a good word to say about - I know I can go drive a 370Z at Marshall whenever I want (and a GTR if I provide insurance but Im not that rich anymore )
Do you tell them you already have a 350Z?? Might swing things a bit
-
LM's not suiting a GTR?
And if anyone can get Konig Afterburners with the Ti lip here for £1000, Ill buy 2 sets. Im not pissing about either
-
Standard arches so probably 10 ET20 is going to be pretty flush?
I dont have standard arches ........
-
How wide can you go dude? 12 ET0??

You dont like the Gram Lights! Man, I dont think I could ever part with those wheels - they look great on anything
Number 3 is actually an american friend of mine, who has replaced those wheels with some that are identical (size and offset) to number 1 as it happens
The more normal BBS LM looks like this (I know its not a Z33):
-
Im sure everything has been done after 14 pages, but my 3 favourites (on pretty much any car)
Work Equip
Gram Light 57f Pro
Work Meister
BBS LM (these are LM-R's). The greatest wheel ever made IMO.
Errrmm.....that's four.....
I know. two of them are my car too, sadly not the 380RS though
I was going with the first three, but you cant leave the LM out - it really is the best wheel on anything IMO.

Im suprised eveyone is beaten round the twisties by a clio!
Do they handle that well???
I will assume you've never driven a renault sport clio then!
Nope
But shouldn't a RWD 2 seater sports car handle better than a retrofit hatchback!??
OUTRAGE
Anywhere other than a racetrack of sweeping A road a sorted FWD hatchback with a decent driver will beat pretty much anything RWD.

I know Im rather outspoken when it comes to wheels on here, but I do know my dish (and its actually called lip;)). Finding proper deep dish wheels with decent offsets in 19's is incredibly difficult - Ive been looking for about 3 months and havent found a single set
IMHO, you need to pay decent money to get a decent looking wheel when you are looking at dish - these below cost me £1600 (please excuse rubbish pic but you get the idea):
and these were £1300:
You also need to get the fitment spot on as arch gaps/weak offsets will show up a lot more. I'd personally say those 2 posts down are too weak - Id be looking at 9 ET5 and 10 ET0, personally.
-
Nope - JP is in Vancouver at the moment but can still get stuff sorted - send him a message and Im sure he will come back to you mate
-
Its the tread of the tyre that cant be showing, not the tyre itself.
If done correctly I think its a good look, but you need big wheels and small archgaps to start with
-
See Im with you there - the Z33 is such a beautiful shape but IMO it sits too high, and the wheels dont fit - you need at least a 19 really, and it has to fill the arches. Something I have noticed is that in the UK there seems to be a lot less work done on wheel fitment (and wheel sourcing) whereas in the States every Z seems to be dumped on negative offset 10's, at least.
Zeal's car is simple, but very effective in my eyes, where the more fussy bodykit/wheel combos detract from the lines of the car. And as for that Darth Vader thing on the first page - that makes baby Jesus cry. FACT

Great bitching guys
Flamesuit at the ready but a lot of "inspirational" cars on this thread look rather "standard" to me ...........
Anyway, theres only three for me:
I dunno about you but apart from wheels & a drop, this looks pretty standard
Its pretty standard bodyworkwise, but has SUS coilovers, Cusco toe/camber/TC arms front and back, HKS exhaust, and serious work has gone into making those wheels fit. Its definitely not standard and definitely definitely not OE though
Really?? SERIOUS work?? I've seen this dodgy shoehorning of fat wheels and stretched tyres on plenty of chavved up Golfs, Saxos and Clios and it's not exactly hard. A lip roll, wheels which are actually too wide (and would be illegal with correct size tyres) and then stretching silly size tyres on to pull the tread back under the arch.
Unless you're under 20, haven't developed your own personal taste yet and are driving a Euro box I don't see why anyone would do it. It makes the car look tacky and almost undriveable!
Don't get me wrong, I like the stock look and I like a subtle kit with some tasteful wheels...but some of the stuff you've posted up is just crass!!
Oh, forgot my disclaimer...this is just my opinion!!
One to which you are perfectly entitled. Flame suit on again, but to my eyes most of the wheels in this thread dont fit right - its something that seems to be standard in the UK Z scene. To my eyes, the ones on that blue Z do. And its not "just a lip roll", but you seem to know all about wheel fitment and arch modification so I wont patronise you
Remember, Ive actually contacted the guys who own the three cars I posted.
I cant believe you think that looks tacky though, I really cant. You wont like my car much.

Fair enough. Makes sense to me to have the pictures and words in the same place, but if its photos only, its photos only.
I wonder whether that was why the OP got a little unhappy about it being moved though - perhaps his intention was that people discussed their choices (and other peoples).
Either way, Ill stop now as it seems my words will be gone fairly shortly as well
-
I currently own 26 9J+ JDM wheels with another 4 on order so you could probably say that
-
I think this topic is about pictures of what YOU like. All comments by members and quotes will be removed soon.
Why? Im genuinely interested here - the Z33 is a beautiful car as standard but it can definitely be improved, Im just interested to see how other peoples opinions differ to mine. This is a discussion board isnt it??
RTB - the cars Ive posted have all had arch work and suspension work over and above coilovers to make them like that. If you look at the first pic you can see the grey car has a different front bumper and different skirts - the back bumper is different too, but I cant find any other pics atm. The red car has a different lip and different skirts as well, but it is the wheel fitment that attracts me to all of them TBH.
If your taste is for the OE look then fair enough, but I have to say Im surprised.
-
So you are saying that in your opinion a 350Z cant look any better than the way it comes out the showroom??
-
That's always been my favourite zed because its not OTT and is achievable. It's what i would like to do to mine if i had some spare cash so thats what makes it my inspiration.
See, I look at that and think "standard" - it looks really nice, dont get me wrong, but a Nismo kit and GT4's on standard ride height is not inspirational. Thats OE Im afraid.
Once again, I am not knocking the car itself, just the terminology

Looks like half the SXOC is in this thread
Ive still got a 270hp S13 convertible, a 370hp S13 and my brother has just bought a 400hp Evo, and its pretty much as the other say - you do miss the kick from the turbo and the noises that accompany it, but for me I prefer the more linear power delivery. The Evo is almost lag free and is savage, but is very difficult to find a rhythm in (mainly as you are braking a lot coz its so fecking fast), whereas the Z seems to flow a lot better.
Id add that for drifting the N/A delivery is streets ahead.
So they get 400bhp out of 2 litres? How do they make that lag free?
Quite often by mapping in the Anti Lag System. It will also depend on whether you are running a stock turbo or not. Mine, for example, runs an after market, twin scroll turbo and produces maximum boost from 3000 rpm onwards.
Yep, that exactly - twin scroll and antilag, along with a good aftermarket map. The antilag sounds immense as well
The Evo is much shorter geared than a Skylione which might be why you didnt get on with it phil - I prefer it personally though

I have a feeling the Focus wasnt entirely standard
Im bloody positive the Ibiza wasnt

Im a bit surprised - Ive got some on the back and dont think they are all that TBH ........ pretty good in the dry but I cant say I have been impressed in the wet. The RE050's on the front Ive got are much better and dare I say it, but the Falkens I had before I actually preferred ...........
