  1. Think the best thing about EVO is that the writers are proper performance car enthusiasts. Providing the management keep that ingredient im not too worried that some of the known names are going. Even better that these guys are setting up alone - hopefully more quality car reading

    Clutch Life

Just getting mine done, quoted about £300 for clutch, flywheel and exhaust fitting, labour only. Same prices as above for parts - big phil is ya man. My Zed has done 40k, late 2004. Recently done a lot of town driving, when the car gets hot, clutch makes some unhappy noises. Was after a flywheel so thought I would get the lot changed out
  3. Snarf - if you get anywhere with this please let me know - I have always thought I sit slightly too high in the zed [dont like having to have the wheel raised to its max either]. I can drive wearing my helmet but have to recline the seat slightly which isnt ideal. Going to have a look this weekend to see if there are any mountings that can be removed....
  4. Think I agree with Sarnie too - however, have you thought about painting them Antracite? Couldnt find a Black Zed with them, but as a colour combination I think this looks awesome:

    Nismo & cats fitted!

    Nismo & cats fitted!

Looks good this - I am on the brink of ordering a Nismo - which cats did you go for? Any issues since you installed them? Cheers
  7. I rate that - V8 mandatory and a decent suspension kit and it will be great. If its based on the Holden it will have independant suspension so already light years ahead of the 'stang!
  8. Sounds good - I am bored this Sunday....[30th]..
  9. Hi folks Anyone know of a decent garage in London to get a clutch and flywheel replaced? Will get the parts from BigPhil but I dont want to pay main dealer [DanPerkins, Slough] prices for the labour. Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers
  10. Look good Si, nice choice - will have to get up North to compare the motors in the metal

  12. Typical, blanket rate regardless of vehicle usage / mileage. Oh, how nice of them to put up fuel duty too. Angry.
  13. Dan Perkins in Slough - they were really good on my last service [just before warantee ran out] and I seem to recall gave a discount as they came recommended from the forum. Clearly make all their cash on labour rates!
  14. Cheers Gixxer - proper knowledge! Just quoted £500 from my dealer for labour only to do the work. They also wanted £700 to install new manifolds. Confident that they wont be keeping my business!
  15. Thanks - that'll be it! Its not too bad [esp as i only use my Zed at weekends now ] but in heavy traffic it does sound rubbish. Will a new clutch solve the problem or is a thrust bearing an additional fix?

    rear skirt

ignore that - saw the post from Phil saying you can mod it with a donor bumper..

    rear skirt

Also late in on this one, but it does look awesome. Any chances of getting a UK style number plate one or is that wishful thinking??
  18. Mine has a noticable clutch noise at idle that dissapears when driving or pedal depressed. Seem to remember a post about some elements of the clutch plate wearing unevenly? dunno... Could it be something like a back plate on the clutch becoming loose? Keen to hear what folks think as I think I have a less severe case of the same thing! Considering an uprated clutch and flywheel in the near future anyhow!
  19. I have been running some EBC Redstuff pads on the Zed for a while. They are a great fast road pad with good cold performance and lots of confidence when hot. My disks are getting a bit tired now so I want to replace them, does anyone have any advice on which to go for? I want to keep my Brembo calipers and the EBC pads so looking towards a drilled / grooved disk of similar size. Cheers

    Car cover!?

I park my car up during the week under trees and in an area very popular with cats... so I bought my cover from www.airflow-uk.com Although they dont list the Zed in the product dropdown they do supply a custom cover. I paid £100 for the outdoor cover and its been brilliant. Totally waterproof over the winter and a good fit [though not as tailored as the Nissan one] Definately recommend it
  21. The back of the GTR is one of the best rear ends on any car on the road! Cant wait to see one in the metal

    Rays Wheel Refurb

awesome, will check them out though hopefully not going to need the full strip down and re-paint at £200 a corner!

    Rays Wheel Refurb

Hi all, Been slowly getting my car up to a good standard of 'detail'. My Rays look good from a distance [except for a previous owner curbing ] except that no matter what products / methods I try, I cant shift some staining on the inside rim of the wheels. I am loathed to try anything too abrasive as I dont want to ruin the finish - so I think the only way I will get them as good as I want is to get them fully refurbished. Anyone know any good companies round London or products to give them a new lease of life? Cheers
  24. Thanks guys, will pm Phil. I got it from Temple Tuning - despite delay in shipping from Japan post Christmans, it was great service. £125 delivered. Think it looks deceptivly far back as there is the big gaping hole from the old filter box. Any tips on next best mod to do? Really want a NISMO exhaust but keen to do something else while I am saving up!
