  1. All, Its with much sadness that ive had to write this advert, but: pistonheads Basically, the reality is that im piling the miles on my zed, and as capable as it is at covering them, im just conscious that before long they will be at a drastically high amount so id rather give someone else the opportunity of getting into zed ownership and enjoying the car every bit as much as I have! Many of you have seen the car, and I hope those of you who have can vouch for the fact that its a pretty good example considering the high miles. Ive loved every minute of owning it and I cant think of anything that will replace it wholly. Its been serviced when it should have, and the next one is the P1 so no hidden costs around the corner. Theres nowt that need replacing any time soon so you can just get on with the driving! Like I say, no hidden agenda in needing to sell, just need to think sensibly about the miles/depreciation situation! I have a pop charger and a stainless steel y-pipe that I will be selling seperately if and when the car sells, so will raise a seperate ad for these. Spread the word to anyone you know who wants a good condition, fully specced and rare coloured zed. Thanks Matt
  2. cheers for that mate- have tried sky but they use the same underwriter that made a claim with so i dont think they like me! haha! might try and see what a-plan say.. enjoy the teg mate- ive not been to the pistonheads meet recently, but may get to the next one..
  3. yes i think the kpro is about that much, although you may be able to get one second hand and a bit cheaper..maybe! from what ive heard though, well worth the money. not too suprised to hear the consumption is similar to the zed, although on a run i would imagine the honda would edge it maybe. yes you are right about my little incident with the dc2, partly why insurance is so much i would guess, although i am suprised it was as much as it was. who are you with? i can imagine you have spent a bit on mods- they are quite costly for the k-series engines although they do respond well to them. i'll be honest, if i could get a decent quote for one i would be sorely tempted to get one as im like you at the mo- need to free up some cash for various things. must say though, they are funny things, the type r's- you either "get them" or you dont i think. me, i love them and ive always said id have another at some point... now if only i could get a decent quote!
  4. hi chris, its matt- bought that y-pipe off you a couple of months back! love your new motor mate- ive had an s2000, DC2 teg and an EP3 CTR so pretty taken with the honda type r's! actually got an ins quote on a dc5 a couple of weeks ago but it was ASTRONOMICAL, almost twice what my zed is! shame cos i really fancy one next... very good choice though mate and you've got some choice mods. get a kpro setup and you are into 911 baiting territory and about 200bhp/ton... i would ask if you are going to bring it along to the n wales meet but only zeds allowed! you and sarnie havent got a hope in hell's chance of "blending in" with your motors! Matt
  5. poor Nixy- bullied into submission! However many we get it will still be a top drive out! If anybody does get lost im sure there are "ways" of rejoining the group which I would be happy to divulge... Im just expecting Sarnie to be lurking in a junction somewhere- id love to say inconspicuously but I dont think thats possible driving something so orange! Challenge for this meet is to get at least one more red zed there- mines getting all lonely!
  6. loving the "subtle" insertion there sarnie! if I let you borrow my zed for the meet, can I borrow your lambo and i'll take the missus shopping to chester in it!
  7. I was too slow writing my post cheers Beavis!
  8. Speaking of things that stood out, you should have seen the towel Jacko was carrying around with him- he polished his car soooo much, it turned BLUE!
  9. xStric9x Chesterfield +1 Zzzz... lomoto Digsy +1 beavis AndyC +1 Jacko Stuey Red or Zed Martin, you are more than welcome to pop in for a cuppa if you are in the area! I cant promise as much "entertainment" as there was in the R&C though, although judging by the bags under our eyes on sunday morning, that isnt such a bad thing! In case anybody needs convincing of the merits to driving in north wales, take a look at this thread from pistonheads: evo traingle
  10. Hi guys! A MASSIVE thanks to Martin and Liz for their hospitality and organisation- Martin, I know you have apologised for the weather and traffic not being great, but ive still not had an apology for you making me have a hangover on sunday! seriously though, thanks for a great weekend and it was good too see all those zeds in convoy! Hopefully the traffic will be lighter and the skys clearer at the end of Oct... Chesterfield, hope you sort out your car mate, just give Jacko a yell, im sure he will polish those blemishes right out... Matt
  11. Martin, me and the GF are heading up tomorrow afternoon, get there about 3/4 I would imagine. Shall I call you en-route? Prob head off into Kendal or Windermere or something for the pm/eve then back to the pub for a beer (or two!). Mike, obviously wont be driving up with you on sun, but we should have a nice convoy on the way back! see you all sunday Matt
  12. followed by a im totally impartial- honest!
  13. oops i forgot about that chaps- sorry!
  14. hope this isnt where i get flamed for using the "other channel".... think we may cover this "topic" at the upcoming north wales meet by the sound of it (28th Oct was looking good IIRC) Went out for a drive on the weekend and there really are some great roads which you can enjoy at very sane speeds (I had my onboard speed limiter with me!) That said there are opportunities to show scooby owners that they dont neccesarily own all the b-roads round there Sarnie, I hope you will be joining in the fun in Oct as id love to see your lambo in action- ive driven a murci before and it was a truly memorable experience- id love to see how the zed fares against yours mate
  15. Digsy, ive got falkens all round too and dont seem to have too much trouble in the wet. I actually only got the front falkens fitted on monday and all i can say is that the car is a different animal- very grippy, very planted and has basically changed it into a much better handling car. Granted the p-zeros i had on the front before were well worn, but they made the car "interesting" shall we say- it was tramlining like a pig and gave horrible wheel judder at speed. That said though my last day on them (sun) consisted of a 100 miles round trip on the roads of north wales in some pretty wet conditions! Didnt have any issues there so maybe its worth giving your pressures a check as has been said. Not wanting to tempt fate but the zed is a lot better to drive in the wet than my s2000 was, the ESP seems to help there a lot though! Actually made me chuckle the other day when, while coming round a r'bout (on my worn p-zeros) i had to apply a liberal dose of power oversteer to point me in the right direction as my front tyres refused to grip and sent me understeering straight towards the kerb! There are some merits to having rwd and bags of torque! On the contrary though, i witnessed an old E36 bmw have an accident on mon- he was coming off a r'bout up the A483, had obviously given it "a bit too much" and got himself into a massive tank slapper coming up the bypass which ended in him doing a 360 across the road and down the verge...must have been a pant soiling moment for him, but i think the queue of traffic that i was in on the opposite side of the road was equally bricking it as there was only a load of armco between us and the ever more out of control beemer.... duly noted though and im sure the zed over the coming months will be an interesting beast...
  16. 28th would be better for me, gimme chance to save up some petrol money after my hols! Mike, can give you a hand with accomodation reccomendations if you like, otherwise I am more than happy to offer my more highly honed skills....route reccomendations!! If there is going to be a large number of us, ive got no qualms about "leading" a smaller group if we wanted to split up? Chesterfield, I have a route marked up from previous excursion so feel free to pm me if you want to chat mate. Matt
  17. welcome mate! like mike said, if you're ever in wrexham...just yell! your zed will be right at home on the roads of north wales mate! Matt
  18. Guys, you forgot to mention ive now got 2 new tyres too so back to the car handling like a dream.... Had a quality drive out y'day out towards bala and then across to lake vyrnwy on some of the best roads possible. Mini highlight of the journey was a scooby giving up trying to get away from me and slowing down to indicate to let me pass I did get a slapped wrist from the gf though so i think i'll pass on taking the lead up in the lakes besides id only embarras myself anyway, im really rather a talentless driver!
  19. Max Digsy, BigPhil TheMinel Jonathan 73 Andy C (possible) xStric9x Beavis (possible) Kevgreen 16? Jacko (possible) Wilky Chesterfied Zzzz... + Boss (90% certain) seanjoy' red or zed Looks like I will be joining you all hopefully! Matt
  20. There does seem to be a decent spread of ages for zed owners. If anything I often feel "guilty" for driving such a decent car! (im "only" 25) When I saw the first article on the zed a few years back in evo, I never thought id get the chance to own one- glad I took the plunge though and, relatively, its an affordable car to run. In any case, its good to have a spread of young and old ..it keeps the insurance down! (my old S2000 on the other hand....!)
  21. Ross, Cheers for the sig mate- its quality! Hopefully as i f by magic, it will appear below this text....
  22. Got some of these on my zed- they look Were already on when I got the car. A v.nice mod!
  23. max, not sure if im able to go yet mate. As I said though, i know someone who is a marshall there and they deffo think i should tag along! id love to drive oulton so may need to partake...!
  24. hi Mike, I paid £167 I think. That was with a new brake light though, and they didnt charge me for a new air filter as I have an aftermarket one. Still a cracking price though and I got a courtesy car and mine was cleaned in and out (they even called me to check that was ok as they know us zed owners can be picky when it comes to car cleaning! lol!)
