  1. upto NSL there is nowt in it with a zed and a JCW (my current steed) cross country, theres not much that could outpace one either, but then again its all down to the skill of the driver! raw figures show there is about 6bhp in it per ton (in favour of the mini compared to a 276bhp zed) but, trust me, the aerodynamics of the mini above NSL are like hitting a brick wall! what do i prefer..?? well, ive had both, the mini is up for sale, and im after another zed! say no more!
  2. it was a while ago but i paid well under £200 at chorley nissan, wigan i think it was, for a P3
  3. nah, i want to go at the back so i can hear the sound of a V6 - im afraid the little 1.6 in the mini is a little bit aurally challenged! i am tempted to come back to something RWD in the form of another S2000 or 350z - i might wait until the weather improves a bit though!
  4. fear not gentlemen! i am here! i thought my ears were burning the other day! be more than happy to join you all if im allowed - afraid the crazy focus has gone now but my hairdressing skills are coming on a treat what with the new addition to my life...a mini cooper s! ok, ok, stop laughing at the back - ive not gone too soft as it is the works version so a nice round 190bhp per ton did a recce up to the triangle over christmas too so i can confirm its still a blast up there - they have resurfaced the hairpin by the horseshoe pass now too so i expect you guys to be hanging the tails out!
  5. Thanks Matt Long time no speak, are you still on the hunt for a zed or have you now bought something different? no problem mate. still have the ST but who knows what the future may hold... im pretty sure at some point I will get another zed..no sign of marriage on the horizon for me so 2 seats is just fine for me
  6. Mike, Just a quick one to say hope you both have a fantastic day! Oh, and have a good drive out guys- hope the weather stays good for you!
  7. thanks for the text martin out of my budget im afraid ross, but a lovely looking zed if i may say so and, of course, as only chilli owners know, they are the fastest.... good luck with the sale
  8. Guys, Right. I want another 350z Ive had my ST for sale for a bit but not had a great deal of interest so thought it post up here too, see if anyone knows anyone who might be interested. Taken from my pistonheads ad: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/356584.htm For sale is my Colorado red ST-2. The car is on an 06 plate and has currently done 45k miles. It has a full dealer service history and the balance of the remaining ford warranty. The car was serviced on 10-2-08 at 37k (major service-plugs changed) so isnt due again until 50k, or next year. Ive also just added 6 months tax. The car also comes with a private plate. The overall condition of the car is spot on, the only downside being that there are a few stone chips on the front and a couple of scuffs to the alloys. The wheels have been powdercoated black by the previous owner and really do lend the car an authoritative air- pictures do not do justice to how good the black wheels look on a red car. The car has the standard ST-2 equipment which includes red and grey recaros- really the most comfy seats I have ever sat in- and xenon lights. In place of the standard sony stereo there is a factory fitted touch screen console which has a superb sat nav facility. All heater, stereo, traffic and sat nav controls are operated via this unit. The car is also fitted with a parrot Bluetooth connection and an aux lead for your i-pod. In addition to the above, the car has also been fitted with the morego 290 conversion and powergrip suspension kit which consists of the following: -Morego inlet spacer and free flow panel air filter, -Starchip ECU remap, -Miltek stainless steel cat-back exhaust system -Hi-flow sports cats -Morego lowering srings -Morego 'Powergrip' front suspension including 20mm wider track and 1.5 degrees of negative camber These modifications really do transform the car, the quoted figures being 290bhp and over 300lb/ft of torque. Handling is superb and the ride is perfectly supple for everyday use while the exhaust changes make for an entertaining soundtrack whilst still being bearable on long journeys. As you can imagine, the car is pretty rapid, and actually handles very well. Its not at all unruly and really is sedate on a cruise, but open the taps and it shifts... Ideal for someone looking for a bit more space, but still wanting some pace! (sorry!). I dont need the space and I miss my zed so if you, or anyone you know, is interested, drop me a line. Im looking for £11,600 ETA- private plate comes with the car cheers Matt
  9. awww, do you know, i was getting all excited about the fact it might have some paddles! i think im just going to have to have a go in one and decide for myself. I must admit to being a bit of a manual fan, but only through non exposure to autos! thanks Jay
  10. Jay, how do you change gears? Via paddles on the wheel/column?
  11. Guys, Can anybody give me any more info on the tiptronic 'box on the JDMs? Are they manually overridden with the use of paddles on the wheel or by nudging the gearlever? I have never owned or driven an auto, only ever manuals so i have not but the first idea of what they are like! I do love my manuals, but i could be swayed by a good autobox esp if it has some paddles to use to change cogs... Oh and Stuey, if you fancy meeting up to show me yours ...
  12. cheers mike! not sure what the plans are at the moment bud, but will let you know- got your mob number. after the pain of the last hour- i might cry when i see all those shiney zeds!
  13. thanks guys! i am gutted, yes, but actually relieved now. i posed the question to the seller "is it hpi clear?" the response i got was that it was flood damaged, but never crashed... that should be in the advert IMO- end of. just read up on flood damaged cars and basically the consensus is to steer WELL clear, for numerous reasons. as i say, gutted i cant make wales, but i am fortunate that the roads are just on my doorstep (was there last monday! ) heres hoping that i might be able to join you on the next one though... mbs- i know what you are saying mate, but dont really want to go slating the car/owner.. just be wary that not all chilli red's out there are what they seem to be...
  14. Guys, As some of you know, i used to be a zed owner, and im currently looking to get back into the driving seat of one... Anyway, over the last couple of days ive been in touch with someone who is selling theirs. Ive not been to see the car but everything looks and sounds to be in place. Better still is that the seller is looking to get in the seat of a bigger car, so we have discussed a swap, and agreed to meet and sort things out. sitting at my desk, i had this little voice telling me to run an HPI check, just in case... So I do, and im left gobsmacked: The registration was recorded stolen & recovered by the insurance provider back in 2007 and the registration was recorded as a Category B write-off in 2007!! needless to say i am shocked, relieved and dissapointed. im not into posting up details of people, but if anyone wants more details, PM me gutted wont be able to join you in wales but have a TOP day!
  15. sweeeet! love that mate- good work! looking at the splitter height, you should be fine next weekend bud bet you will get a bit more induction noise now with that intake- looks v.neat too thumbs up to phil too for the fitting
  16. And the other problem is that I can turn a 30 mile journey into a 60 mile journey to enjoy driving more "no problem matt, i dont mind showing you where the best place to eat is...its only down the road...." vrrrroooooommmm.....
  17. ah, i see- sorry mate! like you say, back on topic now...sorry chaps!
  18. a JDM is an import mate well, in theory, all zeds are imports as they are made in japan, but lets not get into that debate! sorry for going OT...
  19. think the races are the 7th, 8th and 9th...went past the sign this morn on way to work but cant remember exactly... not sure if i'll be driving- my shopping trolley will look a bit out of place in a car park full of coupes!
  20. you could take a lil drive to the grovesnor in pulford again- large-ish car park and a fine selection of milks and fizzy drinks... only problem with chester itself is the lack of places with big car parks
  21. digsy- how did you know my source?!!
  22. imports are only subject to the "lower" tax band due to them not having an "official" co2 rating or something like that. So basically they are the same to tax as a pre 2001 car, standard rate of 180quid i think... could be wrong though....
  23. yeah, fairplay though, you guys should have a great day and beavis is a credit to the forum for his organisation of these meets. the convoy last sept was big enough, but 50 zeds will be fantastic, and the noise will be somthing else! Sounds like the route will be good fun too. Was over there myself a few weeks back in the pouring rain- LOTS of fun!
