I agree bud, although i dont think there is a "best" polish/wax as it depends on what colour/ finish the paint is that your applying it to i like to try different ones but they just last too long application and removal has a lot to do with it, i dont use a pc to polish, they seem a little too agressive for the weekly wax, although i will hold my hands up and say i have very limited knowledge of them and with the anorexic paint on the datsun they scare me

It could be 'hologram' in the paint ? weird, it sounded to me as though he had wax on the soft top for plastics (eg number plate surround) use smooth peanut butter this will breakdown and disperse the wax, allowing it to be cleaned away with a cloth.

its unlikely due to the mileage on your car but if the fuel filter is full o crap this would stress the fuel pump and make it louder, if you get chance compare it with another Z and put your mind at rest if its ok then its just paranoia, 4 wks of therapy should sort that
