  1. £63.75 from MJP. Still a bit expensive for a drink holder ffs. I'll keep looking for now.

    No adhesive shims

I don't really know yet as I've not had time to evaluate them properly. I'll let you know though soon.

    No adhesive shims

Gixxeruk I don't what you mean mate! An opinion of what? Another thing I noticed was there were metal shims on the rear but no metal shims at the front. I stuck the adhesive shims on the pads at the back and I also put the metal shims back on. After reading an article on 350ztech forums I think it stated that I am only supposed to fit the adhesive shims if there are no metal ones available. I seem to have both at the back. Will this cause any problems? I think I've learned my lesson, next time I'll take it to Bigphil
  4. Thanks I've emailed MJP just now.
  5. Does anyone know where i can pick up the drinks holder unit that fit's on the passenger dash? I won't even ask the Nissan main dealer as they will be extortionate.
  6. Ok thanks guys. The last disc at the back was a right pain to get on. I couldn't get it over the handbrake shoes but after about half an hour of fiddling I got there eventually. I went for a 60 mile drive through the Trossachs. I seem to be getting a rubbing noise from that side though but it's eventually starting to fade. Is this normal or should I take it back off and check?
  7. I was reading Bigphils guide on bedding in new pads and I'm looking for some clarification please. Where he states "On a clear stretch of road take the car up to 70mph brake firmly but not aggressively down to 30mph drive 1/4 mile and repeat about 5 times then drive gently to allow the brakes to cool. At no point come to a complete rest with your foot still on the brake pedal" So when I get down to 30mph and I accelerate back up to 70mph am I supposed to keep my left foot gently on the brake as I accelerate or do I not press the brake pedal at all?

    No adhesive shims

Well I'll be darned! The front adhesive shims were already attached to the fronts but not to the rears! very strange. Oh well I'm off up the Trossachs to bed them in.

    No adhesive shims

I've only changed one front so I'll have a look at the other front pads in case they are already attached. I just thought it was strange how there were adhesive shims supplied with the rears and not with the fronts. It would be unlikely that the fronts are already attached and the rears you have to stick on yourself, don't you agree?

C'mon lads 25 views and no comments. Someone must know surely.
  11. I've just realised that I got adhesive shims for my rear redstuff brake pads but none for the front! Is this normal?
  12. Cheers guys. I was right the second time. The black one's go on the front.
  13. Sorry for being a pain but I want to make absolutely sure what I'm doing. I'm thinking the black ones actually go to the front now! Whan you said "rear disc has a larger thickness centre hub which incorporates the handbrake shoe" Did you mean the thickness of the actual metal or did you mean if both discs are lying flat on the ground the rear set should be higher than the front? If so the bronze go to the back as the whole disc is higher than the black ones when the are lying flat. i hope I'm making sense?

    What should I do?

thanks dude for the quick reply. Do I just bleed the one side?
  15. due to me being a dozy T**t I've taken of the four bolts holding the caliper together rather than the two bolts holding it on! I didn't realise until some brake fluid started leaking as I loosened the last bolt. What action should I take? is it just a matter of bleeding that one caliper or should I do more/ Also what brake fluid should I use dot 4 or 5.1. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  16. Cheers Phil. The black one's go to the rear then.
  17. I've just received some new EBC discs for fronat and back. I know which ones are for right and left but in my haste I've taken them out of their boxes and I don't know which one's are for the front and which for the rear. One set is bronz colour and the other set are black. I'll probably find out when I take the originals off but I'd like to be on the safe side. can anyone help please?
  18. Just an update on these discs supplied by CRN products. I contacted EBC direct and asked them about this. The guy thanked me for informing him of this and told me they don't buy the discs from him (sounds suspicious). He's going to look in to it but he suspects they are either counterfeit or they are indeed standard with grooves drilled in to them by CRN. Either way he said they sound dangerous. Just a warning to everyone to make sure you buy from a reputable dealer. God to think there are some shady people selling dodgy brakes. Don't they have a conscience?

    Ruined alloys

Well just an update on my wheels in case you forgot what the original subject was before people started hijacking it I dropped them back at the place I bought them and they have sent them back. Contrary to what some people are saying here I believe I do have a strong case. I have spoken to various people in the trade and they tell me if the wheels were bought in the UK then the should be suitable for the UK market. If not then they are not fit for purpose which is contrary to the sale of goods act. I've heard this before and it makes sense. So I'll wait and see what they say. I imagine they'll probably try it on at first probably thinking I'm a daft wee boy racer.
  20. Not necessarily. Leave feedback on the 90th day after the auction closed. Preferably about ten minutes before it closed, exactly ten minutes. The option to leave feedback would then close and he couldn't reply or leave any negative feedback.
  21. Because down south we pay for electricity and don't rely on the local windmill More fool you then! Yeah and you guy's have running water and inside toilets.
  22. Yeah my thoughts are the same. I just wanted to know if this was the norm.
  23. Right I've just been off the phone to these guys at CRN in Chesterfield. The guy tells me the discs he can supply me are actually the EBC standard discs but they actually groove them themselves at their place! I'm not too sure about this. Any thoughts?
  24. I've been browsing through ebay at the EBC brake discs. I didn't realise there are different types i.e GD7120, GD7123 etc. Can anyone advise what is the difference and what's the best type to go for?
