Phew thanks for the replies guy's I was quite worried. Where exactly is the fuse box again?

I was undoing the battery clamp when I accidentally dropped the spanner and it made contact between the clamp and the positive terminal. A few sparks flew but after 3-4 seconds I managed to prise it off. Everything seems okay and the car starts fine. Is there anything else I should be checking?

Well I thought the door cards were matching but the guy has just sent me photo's which are the exact same as mine so I won't be needing them. I've been in touch with another guy from Manchester who has a black set and he is asking £400! I think they're both just trying it on. I emailed the second guy back telling him his price was too expensive and he seems prepared to negotiate. How much do you think I should pay for the all black set and for the black with orange stitching. I was thinking of offering £200 for the black with orange stitching but maybe I'm being ambitious. I'm unsure of the condition of the all black set but I've attched a picture of the black with orange stitching. They seem okay but not pristine as he stated. There's a lot of greedy twats out there and I'm not paying over the odds so I'd appreciate advice on how much you think I should pay for them. P.s. The black with orange are electric. Would this make a difference as my originals aren't.

Managed to contact someone in Manchester with a set. They are black with orange stitching. The price I've been quoted is £450 for the seats and £100 each for the door cards. I'll obviously have to pay extra to get them shipped to Scotland. Does this seem to be about the going rate?

Hmmm okay but I can't seem to find any at a breakers yard or ebay.

You leave £xxk's worth of car on the street but lock up £50 of rubbish you don't use?! Not clutter. I actually have a 74 ford mustang that I plan on restoring in the near future. Just didn't see hthe need to go in to detail.

Just wasn't sure how it worked that was all. I've ordered a generic charger so I'll just have to charge my battery overnight in the kitchen.

The trickle chargers that have been posted. I'm curious to know how they are attached. By the look of things it's plugged in to the mains and the leads are connected to the battery. Is this right? If this is the case it wouldn't be any use to me anyway as my car is parked on the street as my garage is full of clutter.

No it doesn't mate but I don't really need that. I only need a battery charger. No point buying something expensive I'll very rarely use.

Halfords have two battery chargers in store, one for under 1800cc and one for over this. A guy at another shop reckons this is bollocks and Halfords own way of trying to get more money out of the customer. Any truth in what he says?

Do you think it would start with a jump or do you reckon there wouldn't be enough juice in the battery.

I've had my car up on axle stands for about a month as the wheels are being refurbished. It hasn't been started since then. I tried to start it today but all I was getting was the very quick continous clicking noise that suggests to me the battery is dead. It even continued to make a clicking noise after I removed the key!!! The little red light on the steering column is not turning green and I don't know if this is normal if the battery is dead. What I am really concerned about is if I take the battery off will it reset the Toad Immobiliser/Alarm. I wasn't given the security card from the garage I bought it from. I tried to jump start but no joy. Am I okay to remove and charge the battery. I don't have much choice I know but thought I'd ask anyway.

Right I've found a place that seems very professional. I'm going to get them sprayed mid chrome. They managed to get some of the studs out. They don't have threads, they have a spline and they are more or less jammed in. They come out with a twist and pull. The only problem is the studs are knackered and I need to get new ones. Does anyone know where I can buy these from? I need 80.

If they can and are to badly corroded. Couldn't I force them off and get them retapped and get new studs fitted or is that a no no. One of my local places up here mentioned a place called Prestige (I think) down near London. He said if I want a top job then this is the place to go. Anyone heard of them?

I've just had a look at getting two replacement tyres and the price's seem to have doubled from last year! Whats the deal? I had my 20" Ascari Penta Alloys painted a few days ago but I'm unhappy with the result. I need them blasted to get the paint of them and I was just going to powder coat them. However I have been told not to as the wheels have studs around the rim which I think are just for cosmetic reasons and powder coat will not adhere properly to these studs. The studs themselves are starting to corrode and I was also wondering if these can be replaced (see attached photo)? I was told that when I get them blasted to ask for a light shot as a heavy shot would ruin the wheels for painting. Apologies for the quality of the pictures but it's from my mobile phone and the best I can supply at the moment.
