If it's allowed I would like to recommend a paint shop that just opened in my area? I took my zed in for a quote to have a couple of chips and scratches removed. I was quoted £300. i thought this was on the cheap side and i wasn't sure of the workmanship as I believe in the saying buy cheap, buy twice! Anyway i dropped my car off last Thursday and i dropped in the following day to see how he was getting on. he said there was a lot more scratches on both front and rear bumbers than he originally thought so he was just going to respray the full bumpers. i asked him would this cost extra and he replied 'definately not'. he said he wasn't one of these garages that charges over the original quote. I picked the car up on Monday and he has made a cracking job and I'm well chuffed. The guy is a perfectionist. Thanks I'll contact Big Phil for prices. This link was mentioned on this site http://350zmotoring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40423 However it suggests there are pictures but I can't view any. Also I need to change the discs too. can someone point me in the right direction please of where there is a guide to changing the discs and pads. lastly but not least I read in this site last week but can't find it now about someone fitting vented discs and braided pipes etc. Would this have to be done at a proper garage? I'm no mechanic but I'm not a complete novice so i'd be prepared to tackle it myself. What do you think?

About two weeks ago very shortly after installing my AEM cold air induction kit I was driving along a motorway sitting about 50mph as it was quite foggy. Without any warning I noticed the red warning light situated on top of the dashboard where the windscreen meets the dash started flashing. I then tried to accelerate but the engine had cut out! I pulled over and restarted the engine and drove off again. I must admit the car did seem a bit rough since installing the induction kit. Anyway once I got back home I contacted my local garage who asked me to bring it in for a check. they said it may be an immobiliser problem. I then drove round to where my immobiliser was fitted and after some questions the chap said it would have been my cold air induction kit! he said that as I had just recently installed it then the ECU had to reprogramme itself so to speak as it was now taking in more air and it should settle down within a few weeks. Now does this sound like sense the guy is talking or should I book it in to the garage for a proper check up? It hasn't cut out since but it's always in the back of my mind. It does make sense though as I was driving through some thick fog at the time when it cut out.

I have two motors. One is my 350z which I mainly use for weekends and an old battered van which i run on vegoil and this is used during the week. The money i save during the week on veg oil offsets any petrol I use on the zed. Just a thought for anyone.

Does anyone know where I can find the plastic parts in the photograph I have attached? The first part from the right holds down the AC line and is located just behind the air filter in the engine. The other two parts are just for securing cables etc in the engine. I broke all these parts when I was fitting my cold air induction kit. My local Nissan parts department doesn't seem to interested and keep telling me their on order but it's been two weeks now! In addition I also need the securing hook/attachment type thing that is fixed just behind the rear bumper inside the boot. This is used to secure my cargo net. I hope all of this makes sense? Hmmmm maybe. I haven't gave it much thought. I seem to have the idea that a body kit would perhaps make it a bit boy racery. What kit would anyone recommend and how much?

It turns out my alignment was all over the place! He mentioned too that my discs would need changing and my pads but I'll try and do them myself. How much am i looking at for new discs and pads? ballpark figure?

I'm getting it checked out tomorrow. I noticed yesterday my brake disc on my drivers side has some slight surface rust on it while the others fine. I'm no mechanic but his would lead me to believe it's a braking issue.

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by bolt pattern? Can you explain and I'll find out?

Try South West Tyres in Bristol, they stock them Stock which ones mate? The Boss or SSW's? I can't see them on their site. I've emailed them but I don't know if it got through as I'm using windows vista and I'm getting the blue circle of death!

Right my local shop has offered me this: Boss Xt pentas 20" with Falken 452's. i can't remember the size of the tyres but they're 30 profiles. All for £1380. What do you think? Another shop offered me the SSW pentas 20" with Pirelli asymetric something or other at £1480. Can i get a better deals elsewhere do you think? Andy hasn't got back to my pm yet.
