  1. Maybe Chesterfield, Lomoto and Sarnie would be up for it too? Although Sarnie may be too far away
  2. Guys I am keen to get back into karting and was hoping to stimulate interest in a karting event for local members and others who want to travel. : My thinking so far is something along the line of:- A team of 3 (350z-uk members plus mates) Endurance race (60 mins / 100 laps plus practice) Held at Amen Corner Karting NG22 9DB www.amencornerkarting.co.uk £90 / team - THAT'S ONLY £30 EACH including buffet, & PRIZES My thinking is that it'd be held on a Summer's evening rather than weekend. Anyone interested?
  3. Nice ride.... Black is the only way to go Billy Though I did read today that Black is the new Silver and soon our roads will be full of Henry Ford's fondest colour Have you had a black car before? Just make sure you practice good washing technique and NEVER go thru a car wash. Black is beautiful when clean but a bi!ch the keep it clean. 2 bucket wash method is a must (I use 3 - one for the wheels only), as is a proper drying towel and something like Last Touch or Quick Detailer to finish it off. Be sure to build up plenty of layers of wax too which will give you some much needed protection. I've just spent £200 on having mine detailed to get rid of swirls and horrible marks from poor ownership (the guy before me obviously didn't care too much about it), and it looks SWEET. I won't let anyone else near it with a bucket now. Enjoy it. Clean in the summer, there is no better colour. imo of course.
  4. Is that not the Headlamp washer button? The blank one on mine is now taken up by the Dixie Horn
  5. Guys One of the benefits of running a fleet of 40+ vehicles is mechanics and windscreen guys are reasonably cheap.... My windscreen guy could supply a heated windscreen BUT my mechanic is a little anxious about wiring it up. I suggested wiring it to the heated rear switch but he was concerned about the fuse capability. OK, put a bigger fuse in. Then what about the wiring - will it take the extra current? So I thought I'd ask you guys..... It'd be a nice mod I reckon.
  6. to the forum Dave, if you find the forum HALF as helpful as I have then you'll enjoy being on board. :drive:
  7. Bear in mind I'm not particularly lucky on the National, however this year I'm going for: Bally Cassidy - EW Jack High - EW Point Barrow - EW & Win Dun Doire - EW I guess we can share success / sob stories in Chester Sat night
  8. Stuey, they're gonna look pretty damn fine. Not so sure I wanna turn up in my stock GT4 now I've just been out to it while the detailer is working on it and thought it was nice. Now I've seen yours, well.....
  9. Steve - Call the guy. He'll be in Chester at 3pm and I'm sure he'll jump onto yours too. I'm not so sure I'm gonna need him for anything other than a quick wash down so he'll no doubt have the time.... 07981 095337, Derek.
  10. Well, if you ever fancy a trip up the M42/M1 (J27) and leave the custard with him for the day I'm sure he'll have 'em looking good again. Here's his number anyway: 07971 690944. (Steve Smalley) See you TOMORROW in the Oaklands, 7pm. My GT4 is about 10 mins away from its paint correction detail Hoping it'll look damn fine for the NW run
  11. Sarnie - I'm not familiar with Custardville so I'm not sure how convenient my guy will be for you However, he is in Rainworth (Mansfield, Nottinghamshire) and he's our bodywork guy (we run a fleet of 40+ private ambulances). He's inexpensive (£25-£30) per wheel. For this he masks the tire, sands out the grazes and repaints. But if you want them doing 'properly' - tires off, sandblasted, primered, painted, lacquered - then it's about £300 for the set. Though he is really busy, he knew I needed them doing for the NW run and did mine in a day. Where's "Custardville" ?
  12. Do you know this guy Chesterfield? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-NISSAN-350Z- ... dZViewItem
  13. Absolutely! When I'm in mine I always flash (the lights ) and wave (in a cool, manly way of course ) to every 350 I see. Though the response has been a bit hit n miss I owned a Beetle years ago (my first car) and the cameraderie among owners is special - 350s ought to recreate it.
  14. And I was not in mine! Bugga. I was collecting it from having a wheel polished/painted (scuffed the $*&!ing thing Saturday).... However, a nice looking 54 Blade with Alez interior was trundling along near Oak Tree Lane estates. The blade roadster (private plate - front missing) was top-down cruising along the by-pass. Both seen at 5:30 Wednesday 11th.
  15. Nice photos I particularly like the garage setting - cool as ****! Good luck with the sale. Sorry to see you having to let it go but I can fully empathise - with a mortgage, horse and the 350. Not to mention the wife I find the income/outgoings difficult to balance!
  16. Excellent. Really, really lookin forward to this meet. And particularly to seeing some pretty special 350s too (especially excited about seeing Sarnie's & Lomoto's.....) See you Saturday @ The Oaklands, 7pm I'm 6ft with salt n pepper. Mrs 73 is a 5'4" blondie. Mine's a Stella
  17. Yes Guys, it's Thursday tomorrow and we should sort this out. I'm staying on Hoole Rd and have been advised that The Oaklands is OK as a meeting point. Mini is staying there and I've pm'd him to let him know we intend popping in to The Oaklands for a beer around 7pm. He's a short northerner so I'll look for a guy in a flat cap with a whippet! Sorry mini! From there I imagine it'll be into town (Slug n Lettuce has been mentioned previously) and on for a curry. But come on guys - let's make a decision.
  18. Nah. The new Boxster isn't much good either. Before getting my Z I tested both the coupe and roadster 350 for a week each and then had a Boxster. It blowed ass! While it was a much smoother delivery of power than the 350 but it didn't feel as raw nor as exciting. This was a 'proper' Boxster too - the S and I was not impressed enough to purchase. And it's even more impractical than the 350 The 350 Boxster in my opinion....
  19. What do you do about the lack of Headlamp washers on this new bumper - have to get 'em cut out? Or doesn't everyone have headlamp washers? It's a nice smooth bumper though
  20. Dave... SOOO happy to read your detail worked out so well on the black 350.... I'm having my kuro GT4 detailed Friday - before coming to Chester Saturday so I'm even more excited now you've shared your experience. I'd be interested in learning the truth about the paint - one stage or clear coat? Though I trust my detailer won't **** it up See y'all at the services Sunday morning - and a few of you guys Saturday night in Chester
  21. So guys, where are we gonna meet? There's plenty wanting to but no venue yet??? The Oaklands on Hoole Rd has been suggested for early doors. Any other ideas? I realise there's a week to go but we should get it nailed before Friday for sure. Looking forward to meeting the names.
  22. Here's a link to The Oaklands: http://www.pub-explorer.com/cheshire/pu ... hester.htm Oh, and I've booked a valeter to come to Craighleith guest house for about 3pm Saturday. If anyone else is interested, his number is 07981 095337 (Derek). I'm not sure if I'll need him now b'cos I'm having a PC detail on Friday but I've not cancelled him just in case I drive thru a load of $hit on the way up.
  23. Guys... THE OAKLANDS on Hoole Road will be convenient for may of us I believe (there's a few of staying on Hoole Rd isn't there?).... It's apparently a good enough place for a QUICK beer. Can I suggest we meet there, at, say 6-7pm? Or is there somewhere better we could meet? We ought to get something nailed down so we all know where to be.... Wearing our Z lapel badges:scare:
  24. Oopps. I posted a new subject instead of reading this Sorry Mods - please remove my New Thread. Me and this missus are up for some beers & curry for sure. We're in Craighleigh Guest House on Hoole Rd and intend getting to Chester by mid-afternoon. We've given our mobile number to Chesterfield. How do we determine where to be? Is there a decent bar in Chester we could meet at? Perhaps there's one on Hoole Rd for us on the Hoole Rd to meet prior to going into town?

    My New Wheels

Jacko - Here's a shot where you can just see the wheels I was referring to. I recall seeing a website that listed all the wheel type for the 350z and these were the latest variation. I seem to think they were the Track V2 style??? Anyway, check 'em out here: http://www.ultimatez.com/shop/index.php?shop=1&cat=113 Like the GT4 but with detailing on them - sweet
