You may have seen my posting on another thread regarding clutch/gearbox issues. I would have to have spent out £2k plus and even then it would have not fixed the problem and Nissan may only/possibly cough up. Personally, I think it is very poor compared with other manufacturers warranty's.

What do the girls think then of the site? I must admit it must be a pretty awful car if you have to have a website like that to flog a car. Wonder if they had a waiting list when the car came into the country.

Have noticed on the forum the continuing saga all of us seem to have with dealership's and getting problems put right under warranty. From what I can see, it is worthless. You might as well put things right yourself (if you are technically able) or take it to a local garage who you may have a good relationship with. What does everyone think?

Yup local garage to me does it for £45 and they have to get a external company in to do it as they dont have a machine If you have a Hall's Auto Electrical near you they can do it for around the £45 mark. As Jimbo says, many garages get someone external to do it. In my area that is Hall's.

That tyre squeel is something else though! I wonder what tyres they were using?

Jimbo, Mine does it too.............but it shouldn't happen. My local dealer said If I wanted it investigated further, I would have to pay for a new clutch if they looked at it and if the gearbox was thought to be faulty, I would have to pay for a replacement up front and they would then approach Nissan for a refund under warranty but could not confirm they would cough up. I will do the job myself when it gets that bad and put a half decent clutch (Sach's) in, thrust bearing (which if you ask me is half of the problem) and pressure plate in. Best of luck with it. Feel for you.

The thing is his wife (my customer) told him to do it and sod the job! Her words were "we can manage for 6 months". What a lady! He still declined.

One of my customers husbands had a chance of doing it for nothing last year.........yes nothing. The co-driver had pulled out but had paid his money and was happy for someone to fill his space for nothing. Unfortunately, his boss would not give him the time off work to do it. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! My question is how many of us would have said "bye bye job" for a chance to have done it ?

Quite a process though. Imagine there was a production run and they got the settings wrong on the lathe. Back to square one! They wouldnt, what they tend to do is do a dry run first without any material (to make sure there are no completely wrong settings that could break the whole machine) then a second with the material, which then goes through a series of tests to double check everything is as it should be. If not, the process is started again, so they dont really lose out on a lot of material during this stage. I think you took me a bit too seriously here....................well it is Sunday morning
