Seats are actually being done today - arranged by Jurgen who imported the car for me. Cost £400 which is cheap but I haven't seen them in the flesh yet!

    Sneak preview

Sarnie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Picking it up saturday - this last couple of weeks has felt like an eternity!
  3. Jurgen sent me some pics of my car to my mobile phone. They're not the best but gives you a quick peek!
  4. They are unlikely to let you walk away with the whole V5 as you could then not post it for a few weeks and clock up a few speeding tickets. You will be fine with just the bit you need off the bottom, just make sure it's all signed etc. And yes, as mentioned, MOT if it needs one and any service history paperwork bills etc. As for the private plate, I think that has to be done at a local DVLA office unless you do it afterwards by post which is very quick anyway. Good luck!
  5. I've lost the will to live now - someone delete this and then ban him.
  6. As you seem to have your heart set on the bike thing why don't you just concentrate on that for now - get something cheap but reliable for work, enjoy the bike for the rest of the summer then re-assess the situation at a later date. Are you on a waiting list for your test or do you have it booked in?

  10. It's probably as fast as I'll get on 80% of my commute - however, the other 20% is a different story...........

  12. do you need him to do your hair?
  13. I take it no one's ever even bothered trying to see what you get if you drive at 50mph everywhere.
  14. he's trying the old double bluff routine now he's let the cat out the bag!

  17. That'll be why we're still waiting for the pics - he needs to move the AA van out the way of the camera first!

    any advice?

you're right, sometimes listening to what other people say sets you off on the wrong foot. For instance, when I got my type R I was scared stiff the first time it was wet as apparently it was supposed to be slippy with horrendous tyres and actually it was a total pussy cat!
  19. ah, yes, think you've cracked it!

  21. didn't he say it was jap? I'll have to re-read the thread now. This is worse than a game of I spy!

    any advice?

cheers guys. And am I correct in thinking (after spending an hour reading the pdf version of the manual while wearing my anorak) that the TC etc is automatically on and you only push the button to turn it off?

So, with a wet weekend forecast, looks like I'll be doing a 100 mile trip in the wet on Bridgestones as my first driving a Z experience - any advice?
