  1. do something about all the spongers - just not sure what yet!
  2. It actually worked out better for me to have a square plate rather than a UK one because of my reg number - although not quite legal I suppose....and Tim was right - I was about a cm off the size I needed, you can see the tiny bits of hole at either side of the plate?
  3. Hi there. The last couple of weeks are the longest. Just don't drive it into a flood when you get it like I did!
  4. Sarnie can't we ever escape from you? Don't hurry back, it's raining again!
  5. Mmm you could be right I suppose.............
  6. www.jm-imports.co.uk That's all I've got at the moment from my mobile phone camera - not had chance to take any nice ones
  7. +1 I came here cos it was cheaper - in fact it was free! Glad I did. I'm not one of the wierdos either.
  8. Nixy - that is a very girly description of a strut brace don't worry I haven't got teddy bears sat on it yet!
  9. I could write an essay about this but I would only end up with an anger induced migraine! Needless to say - prisoners should spend all day on a chain gang doing the most mind numbing job possible like building a brick wall only for it to be knocked down and make them do it again. When my husband was a copper many many years ago people used to get a slap in the back of the van and told to behave - the countrys gone mad and it starts with schools not being able to discipline kids who no longer have respect for anyone!
  10. Not sure to be honest - its that daft bar in the middle that gets in the way unless your case is not to chunky then it might fit underneath it.
  11. wonder how many people they think play golf? I agree with the rear seats comment although i regularly used to get one person sprawled across the back if I had to have 3 people in the car for any reason.
  12. I was amazed how tight the boot space is when I saw my car 'in the flesh'. I struggled to fit two small suitcases in - had to chuck one of them over the other side of the bar which was very cumbersome! There was more space in my 206cc!
  13. it's a bit wierd isn't it that we have region 2 and usa have region 1 and Japan has region 2 but with the same screen capability as region 1 usa? If they were same as USA I could just use region 1 DVD's - I think? My problem is that I'm totally useless when it comes to anything to do with I.C.E and wouldn't even know where to start to take it out. I will have to get some assistance!
  14. ah that explains it! Is converting it easy then?
  15. god I can't imagine not wearing a seat belt - it's like second nature to put it on. I would never drive without one, not even up the road.
  16. Right you lot, I've got another, my car has an aftermarket sony dvd/satnav/tv head unit installed above the single slot CD head unit. This is nothing to do with the cubby hole where the sat nav usually goes, that is totally empty. There is a strange array of arials around the back window presumably for the T.V which does actually receive a very fuzzy BBC1. The satnav map is obviously of Japan but I did think the DVD player may work as the region code in Japan is the same as here. I have tried just putting a dvd in to see what happens but I just get a blank screen although everything does appear to be in working order. Problem is I am blindly pressing buttons as they are all Japanese on the remote - do we have any japanese speaking ICE installers on here or is tha a long shot........................
  17. It was slightly more hassle insuring the car but mainly because a lot of the places I phoned didn't know what the hell a 'fairlady' was! In terms of cost I wouldn't say it was any more expensive for me than a UK car. It's true there are some rubbish imports out there but Jurgen told me he would only import a top grade car as he didn't want to be associated with bringing trash over. He also had someone at the other end who looked at it first before bidding. In fact there was one that I was interested in that he came back and said no, it's not good enough.
  18. I sussed the switch but thought you could do them when locking the car?
  19. Thanks for that, I'll phone them tomorrow.
  20. I'm a bit confused (easy done). You had to be paid out by your own insurance company originally? Are they going to claim that back as well then?
  21. do they stop it cutting across your neck then? Or maybe my seats too low? Or maybe they don't expect 5ft 6 people to drive it?
  22. Folding mirrors - I can do them from inside with a switch but I'm sure someone said they fold on locking? However, I am locking my car with the new alarm fob that's been fitted and not with the key fob, is this why? Not an issue really, just wondered. The alarm is something I haven't quite got used to yet, I have to poke a little stick into a hole if I don't put the key in and turn it straight away and I'm paranoid the alarm is going to go off all the time!
