  1. That second one's not too horrendous if you could find somewhere it was mostly hidden. I don't know if you can use the ipod display while it's plugged into the headunit, it just says alpine on the front of it - I'll have a try as that might be the best solution if I had the back light switched on.
  2. there aren't any handy places in a z though! You wouldn't want that on your dashboard!
  3. I have no idea what that is, tell me more unless it's one of your uber expensive ideas!
  4. the ipod is hidden away as I don't have to touch the ipod its controlled via the head unit controls.
  5. as lots of you will remember there is no clock on the JDM computer pod - it is in the headunit. My new head unit unbelievably doesn't appear to have a clock. I don't often wear a watch but as it's dark at the moment when I go to and from work it wouldn't be much use anyway. Any ideas of something I can do/get to tell the time which is crucial when you're rushing to work! (zedrush, don't bother posting any silly pictures of big ben on the dashboard !!!!)
  6. have you got a new electric fence and a rottweiller as well?
  7. thanks guys - puts all other worries into perspective.
  8. and what a cheek digsy, posting on the 'other site' first! Not that I go on there you understand, someone told me................
  9. My mechanic martin died recently. He was diagnosed with cancer and given a few weeks to live just over a year ago. He has hung on by the desire to do things with his 2 daughters and restore 2 vintage cars he owned. He's worked on all of our cars for the last ten years and has done me too many favours to mention. I've never met anyone that put more hours in than him and he never took a holiday. It was his funeral today and his coffin was hand painted with vintage cars, never seen anything like it. He was only 46. I know this doesn't mean anything to anyone else but please everyone - LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULL because it is just too damn short sometimes!
  10. don't worry, silver is even more boring!
  11. is this colour a nice grey then, not the boring one?
  12. I wondered where you'd gone but wasn't bothered enough to find out! Happy new year vidal
  13. i agree, people always think it's in the impossible dream price bracket - if only they knew...............
  14. its seems fine now. Think i must have disconnected the lead while the unit was still switched on. If I do it after i've turned it off it's fine now. By the way, it's ace! No more wogan!

    slippy slippy

was definitely ice. I'l be paranoid on a morning now!
  16. oh god can't remember which one - think its CDA 8885R or something like that!
  17. Just had this fitted and not had time to 'play' with it properly yet. However, when I disconnect my ipod from the unit my ipod still says kenwood on the screen but will not switch off or go back to the menu. I had to do the reset process to unfreeze it. Any idea why?
  18. well after saying several times how I have not had a slip or skid in the car yet it finally happened this morning. Black ice in our ungritted village - I had only just set off so was probably doing less than 20 about to go past a parked car on the opposite side of the road and back end just slid away quite quickly - I stupidly pressed the brake out of instinct which probably made it worse - I then seemed to lurch to the other side and slide the other way. I sh*t myself! Haven't had that happen since i had a BMW. Crawled the rest of the way through the village with cars behind me thinking I was a moron for going so slow! Despite running through in my head what you should do when this happens in reality it happens to quick to react. I need to practice!
  19. he's dragged this through 3 stages of the council's complaints procedure and it is now with us as a complaint against the council! What sort of person thinks they can go to the shops then go for lunch and get a ticket afterwards? I would be rushing back to get a ticket if I even dared to risk it!
  20. A complaint regarding a parking ticket crossed my desk today. This guy was out for the day and had to park on a meter but had no change. He had his wife and grandkids with him. He had to go to the chemist as a matter of urgency. He went to the chemist and then the kids demanded a snack and he couldn't refuse them. So when he got back to the car he had a ticket - he was amazed! ESPECIALLY as he drives a jaguar with a personal plate which should make it obvious to the parking attendant he intended to come back with the money! What a total Tosser!
  21. People should just bloody well pick it up or not have a dog. We live in a lovely village and people drive here to the canal with their dogs, let them @*!#, then go home!
  22. I was looking in a parkers guide that someone at work had yesterday and I flicked to the 350z (like you do) and was surprised to see that it said although you can get a good import for the money 'beware as they come with less kit than a UK car.' I find that rather misleading to say the least!
  23. .............on the other hand, if the savings outweigh anything that might crop up that needs working on then you've done well in the gamble.
  24. I'm surprised that you don't have a fixed price you are paying to be honest. When I had my car imported we started at the final price I was preparted to pay and worked backwards from that - therefore the importer new exactly how much he had to bid with at auction after deducting all the costs.
