  1. yeah true! Just have to catch mike out when he's in a good mood now! It could be a long wait!
  2. I've only had a quick look at the RSJ and it seems to go the full width above the garage doors and above the centre pillar. I've got a guy coming next week to knock my kitchen wall down so I'll ask him what he thinks. Thanks for the tips doesn't sound to horrendous to do. Now just got to persuade my hubbie to let me have it done........................
  3. Hi there. Car looks very nice. Who's importing it for you or are you doing it yourself? Have you got it yet or still waiting? You'll find this a very useful, helpful and friendly place.
  4. ah cheers. I want to be able to drive my car into the middle of the garage so I can be an anorak and still polish it on rainy days and do other stuff. You'll understand that with your freaky tin collection!
  5. Any budding builders/handy men amongst you? I have a double garage but it has two single doors with a brick pillar inbetween. I want to change the doors to one large roller door. There is already an RSJ across running right across the width of the whole garage. I've found a great website that sell these doors for half of what I would expect to pay but how complicated/expensive do you think the actual work involved would be? The two existing doors are seven feet wide each and the middle brick part is about two and a half feet. The new door would probably by fourteen feet wide (could get 16 but more expensive) and roller doors don't need a frame. This means some brick work will need building up at each side I think.
  6. that's a bloody joke, if they were actually trying to slow traffic down therefore prevent accidents they should be visible. The fact they are in a horsebox just proves it's to make money! I saw a crappy unmarked people carrier the other week stopping someone for speeding.
  7. that's what I like about Tim - he doesn't give a damn what anyone else thinks. However, I do think he probably has all the tins in the cupboard arranged alphabetically! Like the re-trim by the way!
  8. this one is a nasty little bugger - if you google it you can see zillions of people who have it!
  9. shut up and consider yourself spanked!
  10. I have just had a very very nasty piece of spyware on my home PC called virus heat. Virus Heat is a new rogue anti-spyware program. Instead of clearing up spyware, it generates annoying popups and slows down your computer. You get an icon in the task tray at the bottom of your screen that looks just like an official windows icon which tells you your computer is infected - you click it and an advert pops up and you just can't get rid of it! It has been a nightmare to get rid of and has taken me hours. It slowed my computer down to almost unuseable. Because it's so new my anti-virus let it in. Eventually by surfing geek sites I found a free/donation based program called superantispyware that killed it but I was amazed at lots of other stuff it picked up as well. May be worth scanning your PC's with something just in case!
  11. stuey you plonker! Hi there Zettosan - I have to agree with the others - I've been to Rome and even walking across the road was terrifying never mind driving anywhere!
  12. I think for me it would depend on the knowledge etc of the guy selling the car. If the place was a bit of a dump but the car was immaculate with history and he knew his stuff then it wouldn't bother me. What bothered me more was when I bought my last car from a big prestige car supermarket type place - loads of flash cars etc but the salesmen were all dressed in long woollen coats and looked like bouncers - it really put me off and made them look like they probably didn't know much about cars.
  13. oh go on then...............
  14. Got to say I agree - good luck to him I say - a car's always worth whatever someone will pay for it whether that's 30k or 30p. You bunch of rotters!
  15. he's offered me a bed as well now but when he sent me this picture I declined:
  16. I know I don't actually need to explain why i'm not going but i will anyway. 1. look at the list and see how many people are actually driving there alone. 2. then look how many driving alone are female 3. then consider that my hubbie's not interested, I don't have anybody else who would drive with me either. 4. then ask yourself if my hubbie (although not interested) would want me to drive over 190 miles on my own to meet people I only know from the internet. Even if he didn't mind me doing that I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be happy about me staying over so I'd have to drive back again alone. I'm sure you're all lovely and would make me feel really welcome etc etc and I know I'd enjoy it but put yourself in my/your wife's/girlfriends/ shoes and ask yourself it you think it would be ok? Just so you know I'm not actually being negative or anti-social - I realise I'm missing out and it is really crap when you don't have a partner who will do this kind of thing with you.
  17. Is that when he gets his hose pipe out?
  18. in that case I think he might have paid over the odds!
  19. I bet Tere can answer some of these questions with her knowledge and huge american nissan collection! Maybe send her a PM? Welcome by the way!
  20. got to say my broadband was sorted very quickly with BT as well. I got so sick of hassle with involving a third party that I just decided to go with them in the end. got one of those free wireless hub things.
  21. a few months younger than Stuey and the same age as Kylie - that's all I'm saying as it sounds far better that way!
  22. I know what you mean but they've changed that now. You can use normal methods i.e cards etc or pay on line. They also offer credit now and interest free on a selected range.
  23. Still recovering from my day binge drinking on cocktails for my birthday last week!
