  1. Following on from my post about my insurance coming down when adding my husband with 3 points for speeding - I did some quotes for the mondeo we got at the weekend and came across another wierd thing - we were going to just insure it 3rd party fire and theft but when I did the quote it was cheaper to do it fully comp! That was with both tesco and direct line - how come? We're insuring in Mike's name and he doesn't have a no claims as he's usually in a company car so I did a quote with zero no claims - then I discovered he can get a years no claims from his employer so I put 1 year in and the price went up! Now I'm really confused.com!
  2. yeah me too - it's the ultimate cheek - I keep looking out for him when I watch road wars or traffic cops!
  3. nice one Charlie (although I do get my nails done as well)
  4. Glad I saw this - note to self.............if headlight bulb goes take to garage.... Cheers
  5. The shine from a sunset in the sunlight is amazing and much more forgiving than black (although a shiny black is hard to beat). They actually look so much better in the flesh than photos as well. Looks great.
  6. yeah, you're right - I think he's had some kind of other dust though!..........
  7. you looking in the mirror again nixy............. and you're so old you can't read anymore!
  8. cheeky sod, why would she be borrowing it? I've seen two really old biddies in Z's this week. (and no funnies anyone please.........)
  9. we got one on saturday - 51 plate 2 litre mondeo for £1400 - been to the moon and back but cheap - will serve its purpose.
  10. My bill just came - £1,700 - robbing gits - they don't even grit the bloody roads for that!
  11. i've printed out about 12 mondeo's for under 1,400 off autotrader, most from budget garages that bung a 12 month mot on. If we keep it we will only use it for his fishing gear, going to the tip and I'll drive it only on really bad icy days etc. I'll let you know how we get on!

    Bloody curbs

oops that really shows up a treat doesn't it!
  13. We need to buy another car as mike is changing jobs and has a period of time where the company car has to go back but he won't have got a new car yet. He wants a mondeo as he's had one before and we'll spend about a grand. There's plenty about but the decent ones all have high miles - we'll probably go to a dealer as we want 12 mths mot - what should we be wary of? (p.s this means I will probably end up getting my own way regarding having a car for winter driving because if we keep it I will use it in bad weather!)
  14. like yours nixy................ just saw that you sod - anyway, look at my sig - he can swim!
  15. welcome - enjoy the forum
  16. Hi there - I guess you heard of Jurgen from the supra forum? I had a top service from him as well. Welcome on board - lovely car!
  17. yep that's exactly it! It's the trade off for living somewhere you can't get gas or a bus and 5 miles from the nearest bar of chocolate if you fancy one!
  18. Hi and welcome I never had to do anything like that when I got mine - I presume therefore you are importing it yourself and not through an agent?
  19. and another thing - what if you put on your insurance quote that your car is garaged overnight and then one night when you can't be arsed to put it away it gets nicked?
  20. Looks really good Martin - has the wow factor without being too over the top.

    petrol

no, there's no gas in our village that's why we were on LPG before which cost us about £75 a month - the oil direct debit is now £90 and obviously that's just heating and hot water! To be fair the first tankfull was over the cold months so we'll have to see how much we use over a year but I don't believe in working hard all week to sit at home cold! I can honestly see the stanski theory coming into effect!

i can't believe how much the price of domestic oil has gone up! We used to be on LPG gas which was really expensive - couldn't wait to get onto oil. New house is on oil and it's more bloody expensive now! Paid £400 for 1000 litres at end of Jan. Just had 900 litres put in and it's cost £500!
  23. so what you got now then - your not a punto boy like louis are you?
