  1. I didn't realise for ages there was a sunglasses holder near the rear view mirror. Welcome by the way. Oh and watch out for road noise if you've got original tyres on.
  2. were they tough northern birds - geordies perhaps? They'd have probably taken you!
  3. OMG - I didn't even realise you had a better half! Congratulations and all the luck in the world to you both!
  4. I'm not sure why plan A didn't work. I have a video ipod which holds 30g and my son has a nano which holds a lot less. When he first got it I just unticked the music in itunes which I knew he wouldn't want (and wouldn't fit anyway) selected to only sync checked items, plugged his ipod in and downloaded my stuff onto his ipod. No problem. Since then we have installed itunes onto his own log in on the computer and we now run them separately. Not sure why that didn't work for you.
  5. I use my after market cat1 alarm fob to lock and unlock which sets the imobiliser/alarm at the same time. The original dash LED also flashes when the car is locked this way. I think its fair to say that would be secure enough and for me trying to use a combination of Nissan fob and new fob would be far too confusing!
  6. yeah, i get what you're saying - better in my pocket than theirs - I guess there's an element of just wanting to give your precious car what you 'think' is the best.
  7. you didn't have a gig at the Rooney Wedding did you? I heard westlife were there!
  8. Yeah, I thought that was pretty good. Especially compared to BP Ultimate etc. have you tried petrolprices.com? They send you emails to tell you where the cheapest petrol of your choice is within a specified distance from a postcode.
  9. I ended up putting the super unleaded in as usual as at Sainsburys it was only 2 or 3p more a litre. Normal was about 114 and super was 116 (point something).
  10. and of course I'd have let you have it as well..................
  11. yeah, my JDM came without but I thought that was because I had tv aerials round the window. Oh well, we helped you get a good price!
  12. so you were my competition? I never got it either - I could have done but wasn't prepared to pay more than it went for. Hard luck!
  13. The condition of that car from a main dealer is totally unacceptable in my opinion and I totally understand why you felt a lot safer buying it from them so you must feel really let down. If it's had any sort of touch up work done the waranty will not cover it - had a similar thing with my type R - paint started bubbling on the roof so I trotted down to Honda expecting warranty work on a 2 and a half year old car - they measured the paint thickness and said it was thicker than factory paint so must be resprayed. I got hold of the previous owner who told me some drunk idots had run over the roof which meant it needed a spray job - done very badly! Had to pay for it myself in the end but I had owned the car for quite a while by then. In your case as you've only just bought the car I would say it's not up to the standard and value that should be expected and you have paid well over the odds in that case, not to mention it may have had an unrecorded accident which is not on HPI. You could get the AA out to inspect it and do a report to help your case? - contact trading standards asap - they have a website and helpline called consumer direct. Best of luck
  14. so does your better mileage rule out sarnie's calculation in price difference then?
  15. there seem to be differing opinions - ive never tried the cheaper stuff but Im going to tonight. I'm not sure of the actual price difference.
  16. I need to fill up tonight so will try the normal stuff - I will feel so cheap and unspecial at the pump though..................
  17. Hey well done! I was interested to see what it looked like as I didn't have that in my JDM - I had an aftermarket head unit with sat nav. I guess the cubby behind my seat is where your unit goes?
  18. Yes, I drive past Elvington Airfield every night on way home from work and the only garage near there is a little tin pot place where you get no choice. Couple of weeks ago there had been some sort of event and there was a row of lambos and ferraris filling up with the normal stuff - made me think why not - still haven't done it yet but I suppose I should with the prices as they are now!
  19. actually now i've seen it without I think I liked it better before, have you thrown them in the bin? only joking - looks great!
  20. i voted to remove them. Its not that they look wrong - i just think the car would look better and more aggressive without them.
  21. Hi there and welcome. Nothing wrong with owning an import as long as you choose the right car - same goes for a UK one. I haven't found insurance to be more expensive either as more and more people are doing it now. It's exactly the same car performance wise but there are a few different specs. If you have one imported yourself you will have far more choice in terms of spec, colour and mileage but only use a tried and tested importer. Best of luck!
