  1. Well done. 30mpg - sure you didn't buy a smart roadster instead Oh and welcome to the world of rattles - mine has the same thing as you. Can't work out if it's something to do with the seatbelt the plastic speedster cover or the plastic screen. As fas I know was told bluetooth is only on coupes.
  2. Took me 2 or 3 looks to realise it was a Z (I guess from inside it's not a common site ) Private Plate S something - think it was a blonde lady driving. Near the pingles!
  3. My commute is 3 miles and takes me anywhere from 20 mins to 45 mins I usually get into 3rd gear a couple of times. My MPG is 13.4mpg atm :O Only money at the end of the day
  4. Was being washed outside a hairdressers!! Perhaps the gentleman washing it makes chest hair wigs

    Awwwwwwww

Came back to my car after lunch and someone had put 3 X's in the dirty boot lid. I think someone must love my car. Ain't that sweet

    Riced 350Z

Sorry if this is a repost but I found it on youtube dunno if its fake/windup (who knows only in US of A) but it made me laff. Warning - swearing at some points. Nismo quality
  7. Well based upon how long it took for my fan belt perhaps rather than let it rust away due to a bang or something they put an 06 front end on And yes my 07 has the same front end as the piccy above with the bit missing in the middle. Also is that the new grey for 07? If so then they must have colour matched any new front bumper surely?
  8. If you wanted to check if it was a genuine 313 pop the bonnet. 313's have the dual air intakes and as far as I've seen all previous Z's are single intake.
  9. Another story of poop Nissan parts availability What I don't understand is isn't the Z a big seller in the US of A? If so why can't they get bits from there. For me I'd bloody pay the price myself to get the bits from the USA / Japan if I was going to be 2 months without a car. Hope you get something sorted. Best of luck with Nissan GB I got a box of chocs and a letter saying they were sorry for being crap but hey thats life
  10. 20+mpg - you lucky ****** My daily commute is 3 miles ish (town stop / start - I do this twice a day + a little bit extra at lunch time). I'm getting about 14-15 mpg atm so think yourself lucky I've stopped looking at the fuel computer. I put 20 quid of 97 ron in 4 days later it's gone. I do always keep a 1/4 of a tank in anyway.
  11. Yes do tell us more - especially as Nissan wrote to me and told me no!! Still they sent me a box of chocks today to make the pain go away. Maybe it is to help me put weight back on after walking to work for 10 days
  12. Yes do tell us more - especially as Nissan wrote to me and told me no!!
  13. Hi All, Thought it would be easier to start a new topic rather than bump mu original problem thread with my car. Not sure if this is the correct section to ask in but lets give it a go. Basically I checked with a couple of dealers and you will only get a courtesy/loan car if you pre-book for a service - and you have to sort out your own insurance cover. Otherwise there is little or no chance of a car so your on your own. I wrote a complaint letter to Nissan (after my experiences) to which the reply was it's not Nissan policy to provide loan/hire car in the case of warranty issues - they said they do provide big discounts to the dealers to allow them to purchase cars to be used for courtesy cars. So in effect they are saying - any issue where your car is undriveable due to warranty/parts issues - make sure you have a 2nd car. I personally haven't got space etc to keep a 500 quid beater just in case - my Z is my daily car. Just want to know what other owners experiences have been in particular with Nissan but other makes I'd be interested aswell. Has anyone had their Z off road for any period if so did your dealer go the extra mile? Are the prestige brands BMW,Audi etc better in this respect. Cheers
  14. Hi All, Well my luck with my car doesn't get any better. I can't prove who has done it but I have my suspicions I now have a nice 1-2ft scratch down the bottom of the drivers door. It's like a wavey line - almost as if a brush had been run down the bottom of the door! (like 2 or 3 lines - aka bristles!!) I have a couple of other minor scratches that I would like taking care of. Does anyone know anywhere in the Covenrtry/Midlands area that does good work? Do people like chips away tackle this. Would a detailer be able to fix this and also then get rid of the swirls etc. Cheers all.
  15. Regarding keys - I got 3 keys with my 07 - 2 keys that have the blipper for lock/unlock and 1 key without.
  16. As has been said looks good except it is not a 313 - easy to spot 313 due to the bonnet not having the lines on it - it's got a hump instead now (plus a 313 is gonna be more like 25k+) and my 07 (313) says it's Ebisu Black.
  17. I remember the days when I had hair just!! Hmm odd - I know the bit your talking about the one with the golf bag pictue on it. Not sure apart from condensation how it could ge wet - though Nissans paint is notoriously thin Lets hope it's gone away - anyway us roadster owners need the sunny days.
  18. Well to make it up to the wife I guess it's either shoes or let her smack you whilst your holding a brick in your hand and fall back onto the car - a win win situation eh Oh and 'if' you need a replacement might aswell cheer me up and let us know how long it takes
  19. Hi, I've not had any water in the boot on my roadster. It's parked outside (not covered or garaged) so suffers all weathers. Whereabouts in the boot itself was it wet? I know when I 1st opened the boot and it was a wet day and saw all the water spill off I thought **** - but of course it goes into the guetter/surrounds. Biggest issue I have with water is getting dripped on when window down/reverseing as it leaks off the hood :O
  20. Me again Perhaps I look at it based upon how I treat the customers I deal with day to day. The largest customer who runs the our IT system (I do all aspects build, dev, support, consultancy etc) is maybe £130m turnover and run 24/7. Sure they have all the relative infrasture in place (backup servers etc) but if they had an issue we would do whatever it takes (server, s/w issue etc) to keep theim running. Even as has happened before we strip down or load them our own kit. But a smaller customer would still get the same level of service we try to go the extra mile one for our own 'pride' and because our customers expect it. We are in service industry as are our customers and it's about providing a level of service The price of the car relvant to fixing is probably irrelevant (though the Z is their flagship car in the UK no?) but let's say Sarnies Gallardo had a fan belt failure. He would expect 10 days + to be without said vehicle as 120k Lambo fan belts are made from spun virigins hair (male or female is colour dependant) I would be interest to know (or if anyone does know) where Nissan gets it's supplies from. So for my fan belt as an example do they have a Euro hub or do the parts come from USA, Japan?
  21. Hi, Whilst I acknowledge the I'm sorry but last time I checked this wasn't hand built by the finest british crafstmen costing 150k+ Maybe it's just me - I move from a Ford Focus that I ran flawlessly for nearly 7 years to a car that costs 31k new. Perhaps I foolishly expected better than what I got. I was just lucky to have access to another vehicle. The fact the dealer didn't and basically said they couldn't offer a courtesy car would have mean't that I would have had to foot the bill for a hire car. I'm sure if you had to walk/hire/taxi/fly to work/customer meetings out of your own pocket for 10 days you would understand why I'm angry. I'd be a lot more understanding of the timescale if it was something less mundane than a fan belt. It's a sorry state of affairs when I can get the latest PS3 game from Japan within a day or 2 but can't get a fan belt for my car within a similar timescale. I wonder if the guy who just got the pearl white Z will be happy if its 3months+ for his boot problem (sorry sir you didn't tick the optional boot usage box did you). Don't get me wrong the car itself - guess it wont take many drives to get rid of the sour taste. I'll shutup now as most people think I'm Victor Meldrew by now
  22. Update. I now have the car back Was promised on Friday a call Monday to sort out courtesy car. Never received call. I had to chase the dealer on Monday regarding the courtesy car. Was given some story about a hire car being organised but not till Tuesday (great!!). Promissed a call back - never got one. Tuesday comes no call back (suprise). So I ring up again chasing. Told they haven't bothered getting a hire car as the fan belt had come in early. They had fitted it and it was fine but my battery was flat and would require on overnight charge. Was told aswell that they basically struggle to provide any form of courtesy car at all (WTF??). So Wednesday (today) I get my car back. No charge for the work done under warranty. It's grubby as they have tried to clean it (perhaps use clean water in the pressure washer might help) but everything that should be there is. I have documented everything and just wonder who I should be firing my complaints off to (MD Nissan?, Westway MD?, Nissan Complaints. I want to vent in writing to someone (even if they bin it) - 13th January to 23rd for a fan belt and the crap treat The dealer - Westway Coventry. I don't think I will be using them for service / warranty again if I can help it. I got the car from Sunwin Derby so might travel the extra to see if they will provide better service. Perhaps crap service because I didn't buy my Z from Westway or crap service just because they are crap? Now once I'm less angry perhaps I can enjoy the car again and my dad can find something else to joke about other than fan belts.
  23. When I spoke to the Nissan dealer and asked he told me it was crap and to get a tom tom instead. Said waste of money.
  24. Hi All, I will ask the question. My car is now repaired - however the battery is completely flat so I can't get the car till tommorow (so 10 days from breakdown to getting it back RESULT!). Do 350z's eat batteries or something. It's been parked up since the 14th and has flattend itself? Or am I being paranoid in the fact that doesn't the alternator run off the fan belt? Perhaps that's knackered eh!? Cheers all. Should have the car back tommorow - then to check the mileage and condition and see how much it's worth.
  25. Well the dealer is still insisting the water pump isn't seized. However I'm still waiting for a fan belt - wonder if a cheeky tenner will tempt him
