  1. Hi, you have to make sure the new unit you are getting has steering wheel inputs/compatability. Then you can obtain an adaptor harness from Clarion etc that will just plug straight in.
  2. Hya, or you can swap the dials for free, that way it keeps the functionality of the meter which was specified for the car and you do not have to change your mileage. There are needle rests on the 350z so it will be quite easy to get the pointers correct. That is a hideous amount of money for a 10 min job though :-/
  3. Hi, its not the yellow one but the clear pot with the gun attached. Ive been using the cleaner that came with the pressure washer and it really foams up well, very surprised and pleased with it. It really goes through the solution though, no the wonder you buy them in 5ltr containers. and yes I would have like the 'proper' foam lance but I got a £15 Halfords voucher for xmas and this looked a good buy! haha maybe get the bigger one at a later date. Just doing a bit of research on the solutions now before I buy, any recomendations greatly accepted.
  4. Thanks for the replies! I think I will give it a go and see if it works!!
  5. Hi, I have just purchased the following foam nozzle for my pressure washer and was wondering if anyone could tell me if I can put snow foam in this or if it is only for the cleaning solutions? If just the cleaning solutions can anyone recommend one? Thanks http://www.karcher.co.uk/uk/Products/Ho ... plications
  6. That looks stunning mate!! It really does show how much better the 06 bumper is over the 05!! defo go for the N2 kit, thats what I have and love it! Only thing I would maybe change is have a complete new rear bumper or get the spats blended into the bumper!! Top marks!
  7. Both pictures absolutely stunning!! Well done on both!! LOL @Martin though!!
  8. @Marsman - thanks for that, appreciate it! On another note, if you still have the defective cluster you could send it to me to be fixed if I have a replacement motor!!
  9. Hya, the issue on your old one was the motor on the rear of the needle giving up. These are either cross coils or stepper motors depending on the year built. The stepper motors have small plastic gears which can break very easily if a small piece of contamination got in. As for the cross coils they have silicon inside, if this dries out then the gears become jumpy and eventually stop moving. Sometimes if the speedo cluster is removed and not stood right the silicone runs out and the same result happens. As for the mileage, yes it is 100% stored in the EEPROM data on the cluster, nothing at all to do with the ECU. Some dealerships cannot do this, they simpley dont have the equipment, but they should sort it out for you. It is a very costly thing to do at home as you need the original EEPROM data, canalyser software, an EEPROM writer, and the technical skills to use the software. Alternatively if they have not sent the defective meter back under warranty/investigation, get them to swap the motors out. You have to be very careful in removing all the parts but it is standard practice in the assembly line in the factory to replace motors!!!! Hope they do something for you!!
  10. Hi there. Was just wandering if you had any luck with the repair? Mine has gone in exactly the same place only it has brought the corner away, maybe 3cm up and 5cm along. Been trying to save up so I can get it repaired but I fear it might have to go on the cc!!!!! Thanks
  11. WOW fantastic! Very jealous, been a few years since I was last there and the place was allot busier than that!! I remember queing about half a mile up the road from that roundabout to get on the track!! Do you get chance to go often? Is it up to about £23 a lap now? put more pics up if you have them
  12. Hi, the fuel pointer is moved by a resistance input from the fuel sender, which should not go up and down as much as it does, even with the fuel slopping about. The eeprom data in the combi-meter is written to update the gauge at regular intervals or when the car is started. One theory I have is that the eeprom data is not entirely correct for the fuel circuit, it seems as if it is using part of the calculation from the dte to try and level out the fuel pointer, but with the error it is making it go up slightly!!! In Japan where our cars where made they did not have the stricted of tolerances to this, coupled with the fact our combi-meters use cross coil motors, newer cars now use stepper motors which are easier to control!! 1 good thing though is it appears they have set the flashing dashes warning to com eon when you have 11 litres left in the tank. Nissans made in the UK have the dashes come on at 4.5 litres left!!! I hope this was helpful!
  13. Thanks for that, ill look to get some as the autosol is not touching it!!!
  14. Hi there, dont mean to hijack your thread but I have the 5 spoke racing Harts and was wondering what you used to polish the scratch out? Unfortunately I stored my wheels over winter in a garage I didnt know was leaking and now the wheels have started to corrode and I want tpolish them back up. Thanks, and good luck with the sale!
  15. Id be interested to see how you get on withthis one too! I have about the same size tare but it is where the mechanism has worn through at the pivot point at the bottom of the B pillar region on the drivers door! Hope it wont be expensive for you!!
  16. well thats the funny thing, it would not go back on without taking the jubilee clip off, it was still tight. It looks like the collar has cracked and it has popped off with the heat. I normally check the tightness when I check the oil on a weekly basis and it seemed fine???? I have had to put some tape over the collar so its not sucking through!
  17. Well low and behold! Went out to the car during lunch, popped the bonnet to check a few things before resetting, and guess what was lying in the bottom of the bay??? the whole air filter!! so the poor thing did not know what it was doing!!! Once re-fitted it was spot on again!!!! I checked the fault codes with my OBD reader and nothing had flagged up!! Thanks for all your help though, its not often something like this turns out to be an easy fix!!!
  18. Hi, do you think a run of the mil garage can read this or will it have to be a dealership?
  19. Hi Mike, thanks for that, would a garage be able to determine if it was that or is it an elimination situation? Thanks
  20. Hi, I habe managed to find the procedure for the ecu reset, the pedal position reset, and the throttle position reset, going to give them a go at lunch time. Thats the strange thing the CEL never came on!!! I have a reader in the car too so will see if that shows anything before I reset anything!!! Thanks for the reply, any other ideas please let me know!!!
  21. Hi all! Please can someone help? This morning on the way to work whilst changing gear on the A1, decellerating doing approx 50mph my 350z cut out! I had no choice but to put it into 3rd and bump it otherwise would have caused all sorts of problems!! This happened again at another couple of junctions until I got to work! Once I managed to get the car into the car park at work the car would not idle correctly, it would be fine with revs on but if left alone (nothing else switched on) it would hover around the 750rpm then erratically drop to 500 ish, then just cut out, car starts again fine! Car is a 55 plate roadster Uk model. I have tried searching a bit with the search function but I cant spend too much time looking at work! If anyone can post a link for the full reset procedures of the ECU and the idle position that would be much more than appreciated! To say I crapped myself would be an understatement!!! Thanks
  22. Hi there! As the others have said it does not get better!! Triple check all the outside stitching on the roof, mine is a 55 plate and is starting to rip near the drivers door handle as the inside has rubbed through, but check the whole lot. Look for stains of bird poo and the like on the roof, ask them to deep clean them out for you. Look along the door to the rear wings, make sure the lines line up well from the top edge of the door (bottom of the window) to the wing, as sometimes people try to lift the door by the close brackets to make a better seal, which does not work. I know if its outside you will not want to drop the roof, but maybe ring ahead and ask them to put it inside the day before (warm showroom) and get them to drop the roof so you can see it foldsstraight away, some stick (like mine now and again) but its not much to worry about as you can grease everything up. Then just normal things for everything else!! Hope you enjoy it!!
  23. I got caught the end of last year doing 35 in 30!! Got a £60 fine but was lucky enough to be offered the speed awareness course. Went on that and came out feeling that I would have spent the £60 just to do the course!! It was really good and learnt so mcuh, its amazing what you forget from your driving lesson days!! You can get away with 10%+1, so I was 1mph over. But on my speedo it would have been reading 40mph so I cannot complain, and for those caught doing 96 or so your speedo will have been displaying probably over 100mph!!!!! The worse thing for me was that I was on my way to Jury duty so was nervess anyway!!
  24. This is my black roadster wit Nismo kit on. Im thinking of removing the canards though in the near future to make it look a bit sleaker!!! Hope this helped you out!
  25. Yeah, its quite a big area covered. It is brighter right below where the LED's are but is spread further out. Your right it was a pain to get a decent photo. If it helps I used some black LED holders for the white ones so that you can hardly see them from the side. I suppose you could go wild and put quite a few more along the door but I thought that ould be like a runway, and 4 is very bright anyway!
