  1. I sold mine on ebay ( :p ) because i had not use for the sticker as I don't play golf

However I am after a sticker that explains to me how to load tesco carrier bags into it...at the moment I cannot figure it out and I am resorting to travel to tesco by Buss and bring the shopping in the bus...

Shopping bags are easy. Just empty the contents straight into the boot and then repack them when you get home! :)

  2. I had my release bearing replaced twice by my garage (now ex garage) because of the noise it was making. I got seriously pee'd of with them because after each change they said 'it's sorted' and it was exactly the same.

I eventually ended up seeing Nissan Switzerlands head mechanic who during a test drive said he couldn't hear anything wrong. After he realised what I was talking about he nipped into their head office, took the keys of a brand new 06 model owned by someone there and took me for a drive..... same noise..... Couldn't really argue my case after that. It does appear to be normal.

He actually suggested I change garages if they didn't know this!!! He was however stumped when I asked him 'how the hell can I measure the oil level from the dipstick???' He tried to show me and was as clueless as me as to how much oil was in the engine! :) A cold engine seems to be the only way....

  3. When I bought mine new, the rev shift indicator was set to 4,000! I was on the phone to the dealer after driving 1 km down the road with a 'me cars f**ked' phone call and all was explained :) Set to 6500 now.

  4. Morning!

I am comfortable wih my sexuality and thick skinned enough to weather the 'hairdresser' comments so this is a viable option for me I think.

    JJ

I wouldn't worry about 'hairdresser' comments. If you want those, buy a TT. All you need to worry about with the Z is the amount of attention you'll be getting :)

Sorry, can't help you with the meet..... It's a bit far for me

  5. Tesco 99RON went up recently at my forecourt, cost me 99.9p/l today

I've been paying 100.9 for V Power for the last few days, and the BP Ultimate is up to 103.9!! :scare:

Jeeeeesus!!! 103.9???? Thats incredible. The price of petrol in Switzerland has gone up quite a bit as well recently, but we're still only at 75p a litre now.

Don't think I'll be moving back to UK in hurry

  6. Tried both them. Like I said, RAC was a great quote. Just over 500 quid fully comp with hire car, legal, protected no claims etc even though I made a claim last year. Just won't insure on the vin number.

Only 500 quid?? I pay double that with full no claims

One thing I do like about my policy though is I've got 'parked up' insurance. Basically if the cars parked and something happens to it. ie keyed, bumped into, etc it's covered with no effect on my no claims! Saved me a few quid when some barsteward ran into my last car and did a runner.

  7. With the temp gauge showing 30 degrees yesterday, put the roof down and headed out for a run through Zurich, round the lake and up into the hills for some hairpin turn fun....

Was in the city looking cool (well I thought so anyway  ), pulls up at some lights....

One of these in dark blue in front

    GTC.jpg

    One of these behind

    F430.jpg

    Felt slightly outclassed!

Cheered up a bit though when I stopped off for a drink and came back to the car to find a couple of people taking a good look at the Z :) And completly forgot about all the gorgeous cars I'd seen in the city once I got into the hills :teeth:

btw. Porsches are as common as muck!

  8. Got my 19"s on (need to get some pics up...) and am a bit dissapointed that they don't fill the arches at the rear as I'd kinda hoped they would. I would have gone for 20" but Kahn don't do the wheels I wanted in that size.

Now.... lowering would be the obvious choice, but with the car on standard shocks/springs I can only just make it into the underground garage where I park. And I mean only just, we're talking millimeters here.

So.... as the title suggests, without spending megabucks is it possible to fit some kind of hydraulic or air or whatever system that will lower the car but can raise it to allow me to get in and out of the garage, as well as around town in some places.... DO THEY THINK WE ALL DRIVE 4x4s???????

Oh yeah, it would be going on a roadster so I've got no room for it! Needs to be a compact system. :)

    Any ideas?

  9. Just put 19"s on with GY Eagle F1s.

I'm well impressed with them in the wet. I've got a test bend on which the back end would kick out every time with the stones. I'm still trying to find the limit on the F1s without killing myself :)

In the dry with straight line acceleration there's a lot less wheelspin (should hope so to with 275s!). My only concern is when flooring it coming out of a bend. Seemed to be a bit more sideways movement than I'm used to. They're brand new though so I'll get out and do a bit more testing once it stops bloody raining.

Hope these last longer than the Bridgestones did... 8,000 miles and illegal!

  10. Update test drove the roadster last night was very impressed thought it was quiter that the coupe and looks much nicer than the coupe with the roof down also looks good up, Well impressed. Pick it up on Saturday :D

Its an 05 plate GTR with 8000miles in black. Also has pioneer sat nav with dvd player, reverse camera and freeview TV professinally installed with a £3000 bill

    Oh well roll on Saturday

    Well done mate

However I don't think i can agree that the roadster with the roof down looks much nicer than the coupe :)

    Yeah, it does ;)

  11. isn't May the time where you'll get 07's in UK? so sound about right

    Yep, Allegedly!

Doing my best Sarnie impression here - however :secret: I have a little info on this front having had a "discussion" (read  ) with my insurance firm and Nissan UK on this one

Apparently, and I can't swear to any of this due to the convoluted way I got the info, the official UK specs & price list are due out this month at some point, expect about a £2k price hike, the actual orders are supposedly being fulfilled in Japan in May but who knows if this will actually happen, but then the actual launch date seems to be June / July.

Confusingly one dealer I spoke to said that they'd been told the car was being pushed back to Oct, but I don't think that can be right if people have already put deposits down.

    :ninja:

All a bit strange... I was toying with the idea of a swapping for a 07 and was told if I ordered now I would have one in May. The Swiss dealer I went to had prices, specs, colours available etc etc

I've since changed my mind anyway because of the huge loss I would have to take on mine  So I went and got new wheels instead :D

  12. I think this might have happened to me a few times, not as bad, but I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about. My guess was the clutch mechanism getting stuck somewhere.

I would say mine was only coming about half way back. The only problem was I was accelerating so hard, it was difficult to say. Never stopped me changing gear though.

I've got my 10,000 mile service coming up and was going to mention it. That and the strange vibrating noise thats happened 2 or 3 times that goes away when I depress the clutch pedal about 5cms....

  13. They're 19" Kahn RS-V2s in a titanium chrome finish, 245 at the front, 275 rear. Must confess, I've no idea what the offset is or whether the lip is polished/chrome.

Had a nightmare getting them as the Swiss importer told me they didn't make them for the Z anymore. Lots of phone calls later and there's a set winging there way to the land of cuckcoo clocks and toblerone :yahoo:

They weren't cheap at £2600 with rubber but what the hell! Can't wait! :D

  14. Sticking to the subject name here but not the subject. Seeing as we've got all the roadster drivers together here, I too have a query. :)

I have the seat right back and it's started squeeking where the headrest touches the roll bar/hoop thingy. Has anyone else had this and if so how did you cure it because its driving me crazy!!!

Tried leather polish so far and that just made it worse

    Cheers

    Mark

PS sorry for the slight hijack but I was going to post with exactly the same subject name. Oh, and my roof's a little jerky at the halfway down point.

  15. Bloody hell... 34, I'm paying £1200 fully comp, full no claims, in Switzerland!!! Mind you we do seem to get more cover here for the money. For example, amongst other things I've got parked up damage insurance, which is basically if the cars parked, no matter what happens to it you're covered without affecting no claims. ie someone scratches it, a tree falls on it, someone knifes the roof etc etc

Still seems expensive though compared with some of the prices you guys and girls are paying.

  16. I've had a lot of fun with the Z this last week on the German autobahns but today I was put in my place...

    I'm guessing it was this:

Mercedes ML 63 AMG 510bhp (no markings but the double twin exhaust gave it away)

I was pulling out of a petrol station heading for the outside lane and I saw this thing, also pulling out, fly across 3 lanes of traffic and thought what's that muppet doing in that.... until it was full on in my rear view mirror.... :scare:

Worst thing was there was a gorgeous (and I MEAN gorgeous) blonde driving... I was going to wave, but she passed me too quickly, so all I could do was :byebye:

If you're looking for a fast 4x4, this is the one to have... Believe me! (ass still hurting from the kicking it took...)
