  1. I got to just over 260 kph (looking at the digital speedo so god knows what it was really) on an Autobahn in December last year, which would be just over 160mph. Not sure how fast exactly because I caught up with some traffic rather fast and didn't actually see the end result.

It flew to 250 and then took a while to get to 260, although that wasn't helped by me forgetting to change to 6th and it bouncing off the red line..... I was surprised the limiter didn't kick in but then I don't know what to expect. Does it just slow you gently or feel like you've hit a brick wall as with some other cars?

  2. Before I go and bother my garage again....

Was in a car park, went from a half right lock to a full left lock pulling into a space and the power steering appeared to pack in. Steering became very heavy and I ended up half a space away from where I was aiming for. There were no strange noises or anything

Anyone else experienced this? I've got 19"s on but I woudn't expect them to be the cause.

    Cheers

  3. I now drive a lot more fuel-conciously... i mean, now i hate having to put the brakes on! I stay on the speed limit, but then if going down hill or something, i'll drop into neutral, until my speed starts to dip.

Thought I'd read somewhere that coasting in neutral was not such a good idea as you were still using petrol, where as if you left it in gear, granted it would have to be a high one to coast, the engine shut off the petrol or something like that?.....

  4. Question for fellow roadster owners: Does your car vibrate when you take your foot off the pedal between about 3500 - 3000 revs??? (especially noticable through the gear stick)

I'm just about to go and pick my car up from the garage where its been for 3 days because when it had it's service I mentioned it, the dealer said yeah, it might be a problem but they now tell me they have no idea what it is. They also test drove other roadsters and noticed the same vibration. Nissan Switzerland/Germany are also being no help what so ever

No idea what to do now.... I'm off to have a chat with the dealer to see what they suggest.

  5. So, just to confuse matters a little more... Whilst mine was getting 2nd service at a new garage today, I took a brand new roadster out and got another offer on a trade in.

Liked the new one. Difficult to describe how it felt. A bit tighter, smoother.... thought I could feel the extra power but I didn't really rag it as it really was brand new and I felt a bit guilty taking it over 4,000 revs  Steering lighter, but ok. Clutch, fine.

Got back to the garage to be given a crap offer on mine which he's gone away to make much much better after I showed him the offer I already have.

But then... My current one has a strange vibration when you take your foot off at about 3,500 revs. My ex garage (who made me a damn good offer on a new one) replaced whatever holds the rear axle to the car, god alone knows why, as even I was sure that couldn't be the problem and then told me the Nissan Switzerland said the vibration is normal and they wouldn't look at it again. I was looking at legal action as I was convinced its not normal. Hence the reason for me wanting to get shut of it. Too much damn hassle.

Anyway... turns out the new garage agrees with me. It's not normal and they want the car for a few days to check it out. And now I'm not sure what to do. Think I'm going to hold on and see what comes of them checking it over and then make a decision.

Damn, I hate loving this car so much!

  6.

Clutch is lighter but less progressive and jerky at low revs - I hate it and its the worst thing about moving to a MY07.

I doubt (hope) the clutch could be any worse than the one that was in mine. That was shocking! It's better now they replaced the whole lot but still jerky.

Should taking a new one for a test drive next week so I guess I'll know then.

    Cheers for the advice

  7. Ok... here's the deal. I've had no end of problems with my May 06 roadster and whilst it was at the garage again last week I got thinking. So much so that I've got an offer for a brand new one.

I got a really good deal on mine anyway so the loss is not going to be so bad. They've offered me a new one fully loaded for mine (GT Pack, Rays no nav) + £12,000. New is £32,000 here.

I'm liking the idea of the extra power, new interior, I'm not too bothered about the problems I've had with the current one and nothing else interests me at the moment anyway but I'm still undecided.

    What do you guys think?

    Cheers

  8. Nice Pics. Whereabouts is that? Looks like you were near a ski resort in one of the pics?

Yeah, there were ski resorts all over the place. The first photos were looking towards a place called Hoch-Ybrig and we then went up a pass to Ibergeregg. Spectatular views and road :)

Hmm, nice roads around there SwissZ. :teeth: Neat rims too, what brand are they? Loving the "Tonka" (big boys) toy in the background of one of the photos. ;)

Rims are 19" Kahn RSV2s. Would have have preffered a 20" if I'm honest, but they only went up to 19.

  9. Great views B)

But your tyres need some tyre gloss and your rear need some serious lowering

Yeah, I know what you mean about the lowering... I looked into it, but I have about 1/2 mm clearance to get into my garage so unless I can put hydrolically adjustable shocks on I'm stuffed

I also wish I'd gone with 20" wheels but Kahn only do that wheel in a 19". the spacers might be an idea though. Will they affect the handling at all?

The scenery really is breath taking. Funny thing was, I only went out for a hamburger and didn't stop until I got to the top of a mountain :teeth:

  10. Starting tonight!

Poker evening.... just made a complete muppet of myself trying to buy cigars and not knowing the slightest thing about them.

Which ones would you like sir? no idea... big brown ones please
