  1. Buy some, store them for 6 months make a nice healthy profit. I was thinking that, sell em for £1900, make £700 a set..........infact.........why aren't you doing that Phil? Yes I could have kept quiet and done just that but I would feel very uncomfortable in taking advantage and would rather retain our standard margin and make sure our customers get the best for their pound, this view has served us well so far, we are in it for the long term not to make a fast buck I might buy them to make a fast buck though Well I suppose the finance sector is a little more desperate at the moment in the current climate

  4. We have just heard today that Nissan have increased the price of the LMGT4 19 wheels dramatically and the new price will increase from our current £1200 per set to £2100 per set We have been offered three sets at the current price but have to confirm by close of play tommorow so if anyone is thinking of going for these now is the time. The 18'' version is now discontinued. No explanation on this other than they are making new versions for the 370Z when it's due and for the GTR which are already available but at silly cost.
  5. Cheers Martin Still working though. GTR arrives in the country on 8th Oct and then off for the SVA and on the road for 20th Oct, 3 weeks today So when are you needing me to come down to shoot it?? Adam We will be in touch, planning an open day shortly after its arrival so everyone can have a look and a ride.
  6. only the silver set left now.

We ourselves got these on a special deal so are offering a deal to the members on here. Price is without tyres. Stunning value and superb looking wheels. £1450 per set

We produce these ourselves so can do anything and any colour combination, the only problem is that we would have to do a minimum run of 10
  10. To be honest we have fitted and supplied a huge number of DBA discs and have only ever had one problem and this was after the discs had been severly overheated at the ring. We ran them on our own car for 18 months and no issues. All discs even the most expensive can have problems if they are extended beyond their limits. The problems we are aware of in the past have primarily been related to EVO's which have inherent problems with brake cooling due to the caliper design and tend to chew through most discs.
  11. order one then I will be intouch with you next week for a order P.S Happy B-DAY

I still find Nissan's stance a little strange. At the end of the day they are still selling cars regardless of the source. The only reason imports are being bought is because of the extended waiting list, no saving is being made by importing. The same situation exists with the 350Z and yet they have not taken the same position and imports have had no effect on the UK market. Nissan have taken a god like position with regard to the GTR in the UK. We still have a UK car on order and have asked for the car to be unregistered when it arrives only to be told that if this is the case they will withold the car and retain the deposit, as far as I am concerned if we pay for the car it should be our choice as to whether or not we register it.

Exactly my point Steve. If you are paying supercar running costs you might aswell have a super car! Ok, won't be as quick or be as accomplished as a GTR however if it came to being my cash I'd be having a VERY long think about it. Agree totally with you Stew, needs very carefull thought. The concerns I can see is how the dealers will cope with the complexities of this car. We are confident that with the correct research the costs and problems can be minimised but I am sure with the pressures for dealerships being solely on profitability they will not have the resources, time or inclination to put in the time and effort the aftermarket is currentlty undertaking. The independants view this car as the next ten year market and as such are well ahead of the game in knowledge. An example of this is that gear sets, clutch components etc are already available to address the shortcommings and HPC costs.

Services are one thing but it is the clutch/gearbox situation that is going to flatten some buyers. Dealers will not replace clutches only complete transmissions and at a substantial cost (circa £8k) and with a low lifespan its going to hurt, this will also throw the secondhand market into turmoil. The biggest problem we see with this car is that it is low initial cost but true supercar maintenance cost. The cars have proved to be heavy on brakes as well, again substantial costs involved.
  16. Standard plugs in the car are Denso Iridium so no benefit to change. First plug change due at 56k miles although some signs of deterioration at 40k - 45k. Cost of a plug change should not be excessive however Nissan insist on removing plenum etc to do which pushes up the labour rate, it can be done without this. Set of plugs around £70 labour £50

Prospective owners also have no idea of the on going manipulation with regard to the running of this car as well. Having spent months researching this there are going to be some severe shocks for people with repect to clutch and gearbox situations and wanting to uphold warranties which is likely to incur some severe costs, part of the reason we have imported one and working with new partners will have much more cost effective solutions available. Roll on 8th Oct when she lands and hopefully on the road on 20th Oct.
